They are excited about the new construction on campus. He says that there are now 270 students that reside on campus. They have a new parking lot, a new athletic training facility and a new golf simulator (by donation). Holy Cross partnered with Notre Dame with a SOS phone line. Callers can get connected with Memorial or St. Joe (preferably St. Joe) — help line for sexual assault victims for higher education institutes. Patrick O'Connor: Last week was Mental Illness Awareness week. The campus was green and there was some information on social media regarding mental illness. There was a good turnout for the student engagements. There is a new safe ride program called O-Snap. This program offers rides to/from campus. The Ghosts and Goblins event is coming up after fall break. There will be games, candy and prizes. The DTSB bus tour was a good event. They would like to market the events sooner with the hopes of more people attending. Mark Kramer: No current issues with any parties. 612 Notre Dame Ave will be converted into a family home rather than student housing. They would like to convert more rentals into family housing. They will be targeting the area of Miner and Sorin. Kathy Cekanski Farrand: Adriana Rodriguez is working with her on a draft proposal regarding transportation/ordinances and parking details. Also looking to upgrade noise regulations. This is a top priority. Council is working with colleges and students for volunteers to help with snow removal for the upcoming season. Marguerite Taylor: The back to school picnic was on Oct 2nd and approximately 300 people attended. The Turn Over a New Leaf program will be on Nov 7d'. They would like 250 ND students to participate with the raking project in Northeast Neighborhood. Dawn Morris: The Pointe Apartments was purchased in March so they are under new ownership. They are doing major renovations inside and out. They would like to be more involved in the community. Jessica Eberbach: The managing company for the Pointe—from the Grand Rapids area. Dan Allen: Summer housing was very busy. He encourages students to move on campus. Bryan Ricketts: Lots of complaints with taxis. They say the taxi drivers overcharging and using unsafe practices. Tasha encourages everyone to get the complaints to her so that she can do something about them. Mental Illness Awareness week — Just Ask. 14 of the 15 ACC schools are launching a campaign for mental awareness. Matt Costello: This are going well with the behavior of students. Move in weekend was bad, but has gotten much better. Kaitlyn Baker: They also had Mental Health Week. There is an app `Slinky" for transportation assistance. She also mentions some complaints with taxis. Again Tasha asks that these issues be brought to her attention. Ken Baierl: Campaign It's On Us — keeping students safe and aware of the surroundings. Students are taking issues seriously and the issues are being addressed at campus level. Keri Keishibata: Good turnout for the student safety summit. Mike Grzegorek: No crime to report. Reminds students of the Special Victims Unit. Anyone needing to talk to someone about a sexual assault can contact the SVU at any time. Tasha Reed Outlaw: Working to regulate the taxis and enforce the ordinances. She would like to create a task force and reach out to the campuses so that everyone is on the same page regarding taxis. She reminds everyone again to make sure that they contact her with any taxi related complaints. She needs all information so that hearings can be scheduled and licenses can be revoked. 2 Council Member Gavin Ferlic reiterated the importance of getting the taxi complaints to Tasha and report all issues to her. The next CCAC meeting was tentatively scheduled for Tuesday November 10, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at the County-City Building, 4h Floor, Council Chambers.
