The followings petition of the Chicago-_ South Shore and South Bend Railroad
was filed by Attorney J. W . Mclnerny:
PETITION OF SHICAGO SOUTH SHORE AND SOUTIT PRTD RAILROAD.
To The Honorable Board of Public Works, of the City of South Bend, Indiana. ' •
Your petitioner, %hicapo, South Shore and South Bend. Railroad, represents and
shows that it is a corporation duly organized and existing und.er.and by virtue of the
laws of the State of Indiana and that it is the owner of Lots lumbered consecutively
from `shirty -five (35) to r'orty-four (44), both inclusive, as shown on the recorded
plat of Arnold's First Addition to the City of South Bend, kit. Joseph County, State
of Indi an a.
Your petitioner respectfully prays that there be vacated an alley running
from: the west line of Grant Street to the south line of Yerry Avenue, in said City of ,1
South Bend, mole particularly described and bounded by a line running as follows: �
Beginning at a point which is the southeast corner of Lot Numbered Thirty-five
(35), as shown on the recorded plat of said Arnold's First Addition; thence running
west along the south line of Lots Numbered. Thirty-five (35) , Thirty-six (36) , Thirty
Seven (317 Thirty-eight (36) and Thirty-nine (39) , as shown on the recorded plat of

said Arnold's First Addition thence rennin northwesterly along the southerly line
of Lots Numbered Thirty-nine•�39), Forty (40T, Forty-one (41) end Forty-two (42), as
shown on the rec arded plat of said Addition, to tr.e south. line of Merry Avenue;

Be it resolved -by the Board of Public Works of the.City of South .fiend,
County of St. Joseph and State of Indiana, that it is desired and deemed necessary to
vacate the alley running from the west line of Grant Street to the south line of •
Merry Avenue in said City of South Bend, more particularly described and bounded by
a line running as follows:
Beginning at a point which is the southeast corner of Lot Numbered Thirty-

Be it further resolved, that the Board of Public Works of the City of South

by said proposed vacation, and on said day and date at 10:00 A. M. thereof the said
Board of Public Works will meet at its regular meeting place in the City Hall of the
City of south Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, for the purpose of receiving, hearing
and consi derig remonstrances from persons interested in or affected by sa id. proceedinlg
and will take final action confirming, modifying or rescinding the resolution in said
me t to r.
Be it futther resolved, that notice of this resolution and of the hearing
thereon be published in the South Bend Tribune and South Bend News `dimes, two daily
newspapers of ge ne ral circulation published in the English elanguage in the City of South
Bend, Indiana, by publication of said notice once each week for two (2) consecutive
;weeks, which said notice shall specify that the Board of Public Works will at 1OL00
o'clock A. M., on the 21st., day of June, 1932,, meet at its regular meeting place in
�1the City Hall in the City of South Bend, St, Joseph County, Indiana,. for the puppose
