The Board approved certain portions of claims filed by appraisers in connect-

Mishawaka Civic Association with reference to the opening of 5estern Avenue east of I
j 1"idiipen Street. Nothing definite was decided by the Bcerd with reference to said �
tentative plans.
The ward approved claims for various departmnts in the amount of �1,054.21.

The Following report was given '4Nm. F . Quells on the survey in connection with
the petition for lights on Tutt Street in front of the Southern Hotel:

Gentlemen:
Referring to attached communication, in regard to edditionel lights on. Tutt
'I Street in the section occupied by the Southern Hotel, the sketch below will. illustrate
exact light i_nr" conditions at thislocation.

.t-ichigan P Tutt Streets there are two 6000 lumen post type street lights,
that show on Tutt Street. At.hlain Street and Tutt Street one 2500 lumen over head mast-
arm t7.rne street light illuminates the intersection.
• At the alley on " tt Street, between •=-ichipan & Yain Streets, a pole is located
on Trrhich another light could be mounted, and this would, of course, dissipate consid.er-
' able gloom.
On the `'utt street side of the hotel Luilding, where the entrance is located.,
eight light s are mounted on the building. Of course these lights are connected with the
Hote 1 meter and a re not being burned. The Hotel cou It mke the it co me r very bri ght
if they viould burn their oim lights.
The Street itself seems to be as v ell illuminated as the average Street outside
the Business Section.

This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessrnLent roll. shoring
the awards of d amrpes and assessiiients of benefits in the matter of the vacation of
former Johnson `-'treet under Vr.ce tion Meso lut io n 111o.2470.
In the above named a ssessrr .nt roll, no remonstrators appeared and noIi
written remonstrances were filed. Proof of service of notice of saic hearing was show
by Clerk eff, same was found sufficient. After hearing' all persons interested. in said
assessment roll and being fully ae'vised 6n the premises, the Board finds that the
several lots and parcels of land have been benefited a_nd damaged in the amounts shown
on sai d roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take fine l action on said roll and
dec7_ares same in all t hings ratified, conf irmed and appr owed without mod ifieation and
the street vacated and all proceedings had with refe--enee to said vacation are hereby I •
susteined.
