Board Trot do regular sessioh at 9 A. 11. All members present. Minutes of meet-
ing held July 7th., 1931, lead and approved.

The Board signed the contract with filbert Construction �Iompany for the sheet
II
asphalt pavement on Dendix `'rive from Crumstown Avenue to Lincoln Way West under;
Impmvement resolution No.245I in the amount of $2-1,683.25. The Board approved the
construction bond
of same in the amount of 505 of the contract prase signed by
lietropolitan Casualty Insurance Company of New York.

This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.2449 for

the pavement of the alley north of Marion Street from T.lichigan Street to St. Joseph
Street.

In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared and a written
remonstrance was filed and the Board, after hep ring all persons interested in said it-
provement decades to rescindall former action taken on said resolution and declares

same null and void and the proceedings closed.
This being the date set, hearing eras had on Vacation Resolution No.2450 for
the vacation of alley west of Fremont Street from Orange Street to Washington Street.

was filed. Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication as provided. for by law
and same vvere found sufficient. after hearing all persons interested in said vacation
resolution and being filly advised in the preNises, the board decides to modify said
vacattaion resolution by giving an easement refit '-to the existing public utilities
in the alley seuth of Linden Avenue from. Yale Street to Vashington Otreet. With
this modification, the Board decides to take final action 6;n said vacation resolution
and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved, as modified, and
the alleys and street vacated. `the '5oard now orders; that a list or roll be prepared
of all owners and holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be
taken, which list or roll shall also describe the property beneficially affected by
such vacation.
City engineer, H. G. airey, submitted Partial estimate NO.I for the local sewer
improvement in Tremont Street and Washington Itreet from Orange Street to the center
lineof Lot I9 in Nest End Subdivision and in accordance with the terms of the contract
between the City and Sapdoni Company, under Improvement Resolution No.2436. The
Board signed and approved same in the amount of $308.95, which is 65% of the amount
of the completed work.
City Engineer, H. G. 1v'ra y, submitted Final Estimate for the grade, curb and walk
improvement on Mishawaka Avenue under Improvement Resolution No. 2378. The Board signed
same in the amount of $2, 531.92.
This being the date set, hearing vjas had on the assessment roll for the grade,
curb and walk improvement on Bendix Drive from Crumstown Avenge to Lincoln 'flay "est.
under Improvenent resolution No.2408.
. In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed and the Board, after hearing all persons interested in sa id asses
ment roll, finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the
amounts shun on said roll. The board, therefore, decides to fake final action on said
assessment roll and declares same in all things irtified, confirmed and approved without
modification and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll
delivered to the Department of Finance.
Claims amount ing to $582.46 fo r various d epa rtment s were signed and approved by
the Board.
the board approved the petit ion of the Builders Agency, Inc. , to use the sidewalk
• area for elevator shaft in front of the Conservative Life Insurance Company building at
I22 North plain Street. There is no rear entrance to this bui ld ing and deliveries have
I! to be made through an outt e, stairway located on the sidewalk in front of this build-
ing. This elevator will eliminate the stairway althogether and give freer use of the
sidewalk at this location.
No petitions having been filed for a chanee in the type of pavement other than
that specified in the preliminary o rder fbr the pa vement of bend. ix Drive from Crumstown
Avenue to Lincoln 14ay "est under Improvement Resolution No.2437, the Board, this 14th.,
flay of July I93I, hereby, makes a final order for sheet asphalt pavement as the type
j of pavement with which said street shall be improved and awards the contract for said
improve men t to Albert Construction Comwny at their low bid. of $5,861.60 for sheet asph-

In the above named a ssessnent roll, the Board, hereby, orders that on the
28th., day of July I93I, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall at I0:00
A. M. to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has vbeen assess
ed for said improvement and will decide vahther the several. lots and parcel s of land have
been or will be benefited io. the amounts shown on said roll or in a greater or less sum
than that shown on said roll. The Board further orders that notices of said hearing shall
be published on the I7th . , day of J.ly on the I8th. , da y of July and on the 24th . , day j
of July, 1931, in the South .ben.d News +imes and Tribune according to law.

local sever improvement in Fremont -Washington Streets from Orange Street to center line
of Lot 19 in West End Subdivision under Imp zovement Resolution No.2 433.
In the above named assessment roll, no rem.onstratars appeared and no
written remonstrances were filed and the Board, being fully advised in t he premises,
finds that the several 1�ts and parcels of land have been benefited. in the amounts shown
�on said_ roll. The hoard, therefore, takes final action on said assessment roll and
declfres same in all things rat ified, confirmed and approved without modification and
the proceedings closed, The Board now orders said assessment mill delivered to the
Ille�artment of Finance.
