The Board approved the excavation bond in favor of Edmund L. Zimmerman signed
by Tv'ietropoli tan Casualty Insura nc e Company.
The Board approved the excavtion bond in favor of Charles R. Doran signed
by %`i-pryland Casualty Company.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans and the Board adopted said plans to-
gether with the follaving Vacation Resolutions:
Vacation Resolution No . 2 440 . ;_'
Resolved by the Board of Public ,Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
That it is desirable to vacate the folloNing:
Alley west of lead e Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street.
The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such
vaca tion:
Lots 61 to I20 in Vernon Heights Addition inclusive.
Vacation Resolution No.244I.
Resolved by the Board of Public Worlts of the City of South Bend , Indiana,
That it is desirable to vacate the following:
Kaley Street from Elwood Avenue t o Keller Street .
The follaning property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such
vaca tion:
Lots 3I to 90 inclusive,in Vernon Heights Addition.
Vacation Resolu t ion No. 2442.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana,
That it is desirable to vacate the following:
Alley west of Kaley Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street.
The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such
vacation:
Lots I to 60 inclusive in Vernon Heights Addition.
Vacation Resolution No.2443.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana ,
That it is desirable to vacate the follming:
Bulla Street from T:ieade Street to Bendix Drive.
The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such
vaca tion
Lots 15, I6, 45 , 461 759 761, 105 and I06 in Vernon Heights Addition.
In all of the above naned vacation resolutions, theB Board hereby orders that
on the 30th . , day of June I9 3I , this Board will met in their office in the City Hall
at 10 :00 A. MI. , to by ar and re ce ive remonstrances f rom all persons whose property rMy
be affected by said vacations. The Board further orders that notices of said hearings
be published in the S out h Bend Tribune and I'Alirror on the I2th . , day of June and on the
I9th., day of June 1931, according to law.
City Engineer, H. C. 16'ray, filed plans and specifications and the Board
adopted said plans together v..rith the following Improvement resolution:
Improvement Resolution No. 2439 for the local sewer in Huron Street from
Arnold street to Webster Street. (See files for copy of resolution.)
In the above named improvement resolution, the Board, hereby, orders that
on the 30th.9 day of June I93I, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall.

Improvement Resolution No.2444 for the pavement of Huron street from Arnold
Street to 2111 west of Arnold Otreet. (See files for copy of resolution.)
ImprovemEnt resolution No.2445 for the pavement of Huron Street from 2I2' feet
west of Arnold. Street to east curb line of Webster, Street. (See files for copy of
resolution. )
In the above named improvement resolutions, the Board., hereby, orders that
on the 30th. , day of June I93I, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall
at I0:00 A. M . , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or
affected by said imrorovemEt s and will decide wl-b�the r the benefits to the several lots
and parcels of land li.abl- to be assessed for said improvements, will be equal to the
estimated costs of same as reported by the City Engineer: The Board further orders

This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.2437
for the pavement of Ben d ix give from point I0. feet north of center line of Crumstoirm
Avenue to the southerly line of Lincoln t',ay West. (5{ee files for copy of resolution.)
In the above named improvement resolution, no remonstrators appeared and no
written remonstrances were filed and the Board, being folly advised. in the premises,
finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed
for said improvement, will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the
City Engineer. The Board, t harefore, d ecid es to take f inal action on said improvement
resolution and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without
modification. The Board now orders that on the 23rd. , day of June 1931. this Board
will receive, open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvement
up to I0:00 A. ITT. The Board further orders that notices- of said proposals shall be
published in the South Pend Tribune and Mlirror on the I2th., day of June and on the
I9th., day of June I93I, according to law.
This being the da to s et , continued hearing was had on Condemn tion Resolution
No.2435 f cr the opeing of California Avenue from Chicago, Indiana and Southern R. R.
right of way to W ilbe r 6treet .
In the above named condemnation resolution the Board decides to continue hear
ing until Tuesday, June I6th. , I93I, at I0:00 A. Lei. �
