Minutes of meetings held September I6th. , and teptember I7th . , 1930, read and approved. City Engineer, H. G. Wray, submitted partial estimate No.3 for the sewer grade, curb, walk and pavement on the Streets in Boulevard Park Addition in accordance with the terms of the contra ct between the City of South Bend and the Rieth itiley Con- struction Company, contractors, under Improvement Resolution No.2328. The Board signed and approved same in the amount of 40,119.4I. The Board, upon the recommendation of City Engineer, H. G. WraV, approve the grades of the alley east of 31st. , "treet from Hastings 6treet to wan Street and for the alley south of Hastings Street from 31st., Street to 32nd. Street, as shown on the plans submitted. The Hoard approved the petition of ''r. J. L. Wilson to construct a side- walk elevator at 126 N. Lafayette Street, said elevator to be 4j g 5 feet. The Board signed the contract with harry N. Barnes for the grade, curb and walk im-Drovement on the west 1 of Fellows Street from Irvington "'treet to bonmoyer Avenue under Improvement Reeolution No. 2388 in the amount of $I,386.22. The Board also approved the construction bond of same in the amount of I00% of the contract price signed by United Sta tes Fidelity and Guaranty Uo. , of Baltimore ""'d. The Board approved the contract rith H. N. Barnes for the grade, curb and walk improvement on the south � of Donmoyer 'venue from Fellows Street -to High `'t. , under Improvement Resolution No.23g7 in the amount of $I,534.00.` The Board also approv- ed. the construction bond of same for I00% of the contract -rice signed by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company of Baltimore, Md. The -board approved the contract with Ita lte r F. Gross for the pavement improvement on the Ist. , alley east of "'cott Street ;^the Ist. , alley north cf Wayne St. , 2nd . , alley east of Leo tt street, and er Improvement Res olut ion No.2384 in the amount of I,042.60. The Board also approved the construction bond of same for 50% of the contrac price signed by National Surety Company. pity Engineer, R. G. Final estimate for the pavement of Olive Street from Lincoln Way �dest to Elwood Avenue mnder Improvement Resolution No.2367 in the amount of $15,027.55. Final Estimate for the grading of Johnson 6treet from Pershing; Street to Wilson Street under Improvement Resolution No.2377 in the amount of $6I9.36. Final Estimate for the pavement on I�Iwyga_ rt Street from Indiana Avenue to N. J . I. & I. R. R. under Improvement Resolution No .2 380 in the amount of $4, 643.60. Final Estimate for the side walk improvement on the south side of Indiana. Avenue from Brookfield. Street to Olive Street under Improvement Resolution No. 2376 in the amount of $869.54. Avenue to Prairie Avenue under Improvement Resolution No. 2374 in the amount of $356.62 signed_ by N., ti oval 'surety, Company. This being the date set, continued hearing- was had on the assessment roll for the local sewer in Louise Street from Mishawaka Avenue to center line of lst. , alley south under Improvement xes oluti on 1--'o . 2382. • In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remon- j stran.des were filed and the Board,being "ully advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land b ve been benefited in the amounts shown on said assess merit roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified, oonfirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance. J This being the date set, hearing was had on Vacation Reolsutio# No.239I for the vacation of the Ist., alley south of Huron ''treet from 4Vatren Street to the east line of the alley west of Tarre•n Street and from the west line of the alley west of Warren • street to Carlisle Street. (See files for copy of resolution.) The board now orders that a list or roil be prepared. of all owners and holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be ta.ken which list o r roll shall ii also describe the property beneficially affectec by such vacation. City engineer, E. G. Wray, filed the primary assessment roll for the sidewalk im- provement on the south side of Indiana Avenue from-Orookfield Street to Olive 'street under Improvement Resolution No.2376. In the above naned. assessment roll, the Board, hereby, orders that on tht 8th.9 i day of October I930, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall at 1--I5 P. M-, f to hear and re ceive r emonstrance s from all p er sons whose property -ha s been assess ed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said roll or in a greater or less sum than that shown on said roll. The Board further orders that notices of said hearing shall be published on the 26th.,er day of September, on the 27th , day of "�eptem- ber andon the Ord., day of OctobI930, in the South Bend. News Tines and Tribune accord ing to law, and that notice be mailed to property owners. 176 Tuesday, 0 eptember 23rd., 1930. City Engineer, H. G. Wray'filed the primary assessment mll fir the local sewer improvement on Clyde Street from Altgeld Street, to a point 225 feet north under Improvement Resolution No*2317. In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on the 8th dav of October 1930, this Board will meet in 'their office in the City Hall at -7,I;1P'*,h!#', I to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts shown on said roll or in a greater or less sum than that shown on said roll. The Board further orders that notices of gaid hearing hhall be published on the 26th. I day of Oeptember, on the 27th. , day of eptember and on the 3rd.,, day of October 1930, in the South Bend News Times and Tribun according to law and that notices be rmiled to property owners according to law. The Board approved pay roll claims fbr various departments in the amount of 13,349.21. The -board, approved claims for various departments in the amount of $19550.44. The Board appmved pa� roll claims for track elevation work in the amount of $433.33 and hereby orders ity Controller to pay same out of Track Elevation -Fund . The Board also approved claims fcr work in connection with track eleva- tion in the amount of $2,400.37 and hereby orders City Controller to pay same out of Track Elevation Fund.
