City engineer, H. G. Wray, submitted Final Estima to for the local sewer
in Clyde Street from Altgeld Street North 225 Feet under Improvement Resolution No.
2317 in the amount of 282.94, which was approved and. signed by the Board.,
Meeting adjourned at 12 o'Clock goon.

Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. F`. All members present. On
account of the large number of persons present, the meeting was adjourned to the Coun-
cil Chambers.
City Engineer, H. G. lira. T , submitted the rep cr t on the remonstrance
f iled a gainst the- improvement of Huey 'treet from Elwood to Keller under Improvement
Resolution No.2356, showing that 7 resident -,ro•perty owners out of 9 had signed the
remonstrance. This number constitutes a majority and the Board, therefore,, rescinds
all former action taken on said improvement resolution N0.2356 and declares same null
and void and the proceedings closed.
The Board approved the redistribution of assessments for the improvement
on Bulla Street as shown on the schedule submitted by City Engineer , F. G. Wray.

Improvement resolution No.2363 for the grading of Huey Street from Long -
ley Avenue to the alley south of Frederickson �-#reet. (See files for copy of resolu-
tion. )
Improvement resolution no.2364 for the grading of Lonpley Avenue from
Huey street to Olive. Street. (See files for copy of resolution.)
In both of the above named improvement rem lut ions , no remonstrators
appe=firer and no written Yemonstrances were filed and the Board finds that the benefits
to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvements
will be equal to the estimated costs of same as reported by the City Civil engineer
and therefore the Board takes final action ori sadi improvement resolutions and declare
same in all things ratified, conf irmed and approved without modification.
Ti e Board now orders that on the IOth., day of June I930, this Board
will receive open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements
up to I0:00 A. M. The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be
published in the South Bend Tribune and Mllrror on the 30th. , day of Itiiay an on the
6th., day of June I930 according to law.
In the matter of the pavement of Humboldt Street from Allen Street to
the West curb line of Diamond Avenue under Improve-m-.nt Resolution No.23517, the Board
hereby orders that on the IOth., day of June 1930, this Board will receive, open and
read sealed. proposals for the construction of said improvement up to I0:00 A. N. The
Board further orders that notices of said sealed proposals shall be published on the
30th . , day of Fray and. on the 6th . , day cf June I9 3O. i n the South Bend `tribune and
Mirror according to law.
This being the date set, hearing was ha. d on Impro venen t Resolution No.236
for the grade, curb and walk imrorovermnt on F,leon Street from Jefferson Street to
Colfax Avenue. (See files for copy of resillution.)
In the above named improvemmnt resolution, remonstrators appe^ red but
no remonstrance was filed and the Board, being folly advised in the premises, finds
that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for
said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City
Engineer, The Board, theref are , de ci des to take f insl action on said resolution and
deelares same in all things ratified, conf i3:ed and approimd.
This being the date set, continued he, -ring was had on Improvement
Resolution No.2360 for the sewer and pavement improvement on Swygert Street from
Prairie Avenue to Ewing Avenue. (See files for copy cf resolution. ).

Wednesday, May 21st. , 1930.
In the above named improvement re se lution, remonstrs_ tors appeared
but no -written remonstrance was filed and the Board, after hearing all persons
interested in said improvement and being fully advised in the premises, -dboldes
to modify said resolution to provide for the construction of sewer only and j
eliminating the pavement. With this modification, the Board fide that the benefits j
to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvement
will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported. by the City Engineer and
that the improvement is necessary and therefor+, takes final action on soAd improvementI
resolution and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved as modi-
fied.

The Board now orders that on the IOth., day of June I930, sealed pro-
posals will be received for the construction of said improvement up to IO:00 A. M.
The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on the
30 th . , day of ay and on the 6 th . , day of June 1900 in the South Bend Tribune and
Mirror according to law.
This being the date set, hearing was hadon Improvement Resolution No.
2362 for the pavement of Porta Avenue fro S. C. line of Navarre Street to Keller

In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared but
no remonstrance was filed. Attorney Jay was present representing approximately

;� 149 property owners. Attorney Obenchain was -present representing the North `Rest
Business Mens association. After hearing all persons interested in said improvement

and after giving every one present an opportunity to voice his sentiments either for

or against said proposed improvement, the Board decides to continue hearing until
Tuesday, May 27th. 1 19309 at I0:00 A. M.
The Board approved the following Covenant made and executed by Ben
Plotkin and bophia Plotkin, husband and wife with reference to several buildings
erected in the street area on Corby 'treet and the Board hereby instructs Clerk to
record same:

street improverrnts, as signified by the request of said Board, and will save said

me nt resolutions:

Improvement Resolution No.2373 for the pavement of 1- elkus Court from Oak
Street to Lincoln Way West. ( See files for copy cf resolution.)
In both of ih.e above named improvement resolutions, the Board hereby orders
thAt on. the I8th., day of June I930,. this Board will meet in Their office in the City
-all at 7-I5 P. �., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in
or affected by said improvements and will decide whether the benefits to the several
lots and ppreels of land liable io be assessed for said impnivenrants will be equal to
the estimated costs'of.same as reported by the City Engineer. The Board further orders
that notices of said hearings shall be published on the 30th., day of Ilay and on the
6th. , day of June 1930, . in the South Bend Tribune and Mirror according to law and that
notices be mailed to property owners according to law.
No petitions having been filed f or a change in the type �f pavement other
than that specified in the p re�iminary order for the pavement of Eddy treet. ( a 3 foot
strip on each side of the County pavement) from North curb line of South Bend Avenue to
City Limits under Improvement resolution No.2342, the Board this 27th., day of May 1930
hereby makes a final order for concrete pavement as the type of pavement with which said
street shall be improved and awards the eontreet for said improvement to Gross Construct
Compsny at their low bid of 56,I07.02 f or concrete pavement.
No petitions having been filed for a change in the type of pavement other
than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of Greenlawn Avenue from
Mishawaka Avenue to sunnymede Avenue under improvement Resolution No.2265, the Board
this 27th. , day of May I930, hereby makes a final order for sheet asphalt pavement as
the type of pavement with which said street shall be improved and awards the contract
for said improvement to Albert Construction Company at their low bid cf �25,384.85 for
sheet asphalt heavy traffic pevement.
City %pineer, F. G. Wray, submitted a report on the petition for a change
in the type of pave went other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pave-
ment of Oa,kside Street from Idichigan street to Fain Street under Improvement Resolution
No.2336, showing that 2 resident property miners out cf three have petitioned for
asphaltic concrete.

street shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to Albert Const.,
Company at their low bid of $3,334.60 for asphaltic concrete pavement.
