V4'rai,7', filed a report on the remonstrenced filed against the Devement of Rob'inson 6treet from Lincoin 'away East to Calvert Street under Improvement Res olu-tibn No.2358: There are 30 resident property owners on this street, I9-:1-bf whom have sipned the remonstrance. This constitutes a majority of resident property oviners and the Board, therefore, rescinds all former action taken on said resolution and. declares • same null and void, and the -nrocee'dinCs closed. Upon the recommendrtion of Wm. F. walls, the Board tp proved the install- ation of the following street lights: Installation of a IOOG lumen light at the alley between FiE,*h and i�ale Street on ��400disde Street at a cost of $22.00 ­ per year. InstalliLtion of a I000-lumen light. at the intersection between Jefferson and Wayne Otreet and between -It. Jose -ph and Carroll -Streets at a cost of $22.00 per year • The Board signed the contract with Albert C6nstruction Company for the sheet asphalt pavement on 1"viarine 'street from N. Y. C. R. I R. to Indiana Avenue, under Improvement resolution No#2269 at a cost of 1411444.50. Zhe Board also approved the construction bond of same for 50% of the contract price signed by Metropolitan Casualty Insurance Co, The Board signed the contra ct with I. Staples for the construction of local seTer in Huey Street from Elwood. Avenue to Keller Street under Improvermnt Res- olution No.2330 in ffie amount of 82J17.02. Wray, submitted Final Estimate for the loca 1 sewer in Clyde Street from Altgeld Street North 225 Feet under Improvement Resolution No. 2317 in the amount of 282,94, which was approved and. signed by the Board. On account of the large number of persons present, the meeting was adjourned to the Coun- cil Chambers. City Engineer, H. G. ra_.r submitted the rep cr t on the remons tran ce filed against the- improovement of Huey 'treet from Elwood to Keller under Improvement Resolution No.2356, E.owing that 7 resident =o-perty ovmers out of 9 had signed the remonstrance. This number constitutes a majority and the Board, therefore,, rescinds all former action taken on said improvement resolution N0.2356 and declares same null and void and the proceedings closed. The Board approved the re distribution of assessments for the improvement on Bulla Street as shoT;n on the schedule submitted by City Engineer, H. G. Wray. This being the date set, hearings zrere had on the fblloring improvement resolutions: Improvement resolution No.2363 for the grading of Huey Street from Tong ley Avenue to the alley south of Frederickson �--Yreet. (See files for copy of resolu- tion, ) Improvement resolution no.2364 for the grading of Tongley Avenue from Huey street to Olive. Street. (See files for copy of resolution.) In both of the above named imnro v eme nt reso tut ions , no remonstrators, appearee and no written Yemonstrences were Aled and. the Board finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvements will be equal to the estimated costs of same as reported by the City Civil -Engineer and therefore the Board takes final action on sadi improvement resolutions and declare same in all things ratified, eonf irmed and approved without modification. The Board now orders that on the IOth., day cif June I930, this Board will receive open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements up to I0:00 A. M. The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published in the South Bend Tribune and I�`iIrror on the 30th. , day of �tiiay a.nd on the 6th., day of June 1930 according to law. In the matter of the pavement of Humboldt Street from Allen Street to the West curb line of Diamond Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2357, the Board hereby orders that on the IOth., day of June 1930, this Board will receive, open and read sealed. proposals for the construction of said improvement up to I0:00 A. 1. The Board further orders that notices of said sealed proposals shall be published on the 30th . , day of ��y and on the 6th . , day cC June I9 30 , i n the South Bend `tribune and Mirror according to law. This being the date set, hearing was had on ImprovE ent Resolution No.236 for the grade, curb end walk improvement on F�Icon Street from Jefferson Street to Colfax Avenue. ( See files for copy of ie s1luti on. ) In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appe^ red but no remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable -b be assessed for raid improvement will be equal to the estimated cast of same as reported by the City Engineer, The Doard, therefore, decides to take final action on said resolution and declares same in all things ratified, corifi3ned and approved.
