04/23/1930 Board of Public Works Minutes
W ec.ne sd ay Evening April 2 3rd. , 19300 Board met in regular session,at 7-I5 P. M. Mr. Ralph H. Kuss absent. This beings the date set, hearings were had_ on the following improvement resolu tions:: . Improvement -Resolution T�,o:2333 for the pavement of Columbia. Street from Sample Street to Pennsylvania Avenue. ( See files for copy of resolution.) Improvement Resolution hTo.2334 for the pavement of Dubeil Avenue from Marine Street to Leer Street. (See files for copy of resolution.) Improvement Resolution No.2337 for the pavement of Swygart Street from 2nd., alley north of Indiana Av Enue to Prairie Avenue. ( See files for copy of resolution.) In all of the above n€red improvement resolutions, written remonstrances were filed and remonstrators appeared and the Board, after hearing all persons interested in same improvements and being fully advised in the premises, decides to over rule the remonstrances and finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the e stirr.. ted costs of same as reported by the City Engineer and therefore declares said improvement re soli- tions in all things ratified, conf irmed and approved without mod ificat ions. The Board hereby orders said remonstrances referred to City Engineer for a final check as the the. numbers of resident property owners who have signed same. In all of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board, hereby, orders that on the I3th., day of May, I930, this Board will receive, open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements up to I0:00 A. N. Improvement Resolution No.234I for the local sewer improvement in Eddy Street from Wit. Vincent Street to the City. Limits. (See fi le s f or copy of re s olution, } In all of the above named improveimnt resolutions, remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrances were filed and the Bov.rd, after µea7ring all persons inter- ested in said improvements finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvements will be equal to the estimated costs of seme as reported by the City Engineer and that the improvements are necessary. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said improvement resolutions and declares same in all things ratified confirmed and a-pproved without modifications. j The Board hereby orders that on the 13th., day of May I930, this Board will. receive !I open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements up to I0:00 A. M. The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on the 25th., day of April and on the 2nd., day of May 1930 in the South Bend Tribune and Mirror accordinu to law. i This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.2338 for the pavement of Wilson. In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators Eppea_red and a written remonstrance was filed and the Board after hearing all persons interested in said im- provement decides to rescind all former -�etion taken on same and declares some null and Void and the proceedings closed. City Engineer, T.�G. t- ray, filed martial estimate �`io.I for the pavement of the alley east of Miami Utreet from Victoria Street to Altpeld 6treet under Improve- ment Resolution No.2297. The Board signed and ap roved same in the amount of 758.4.5 under the provisions of the contract between the Eity and E. T. Trenberg, contractor. jCit77 -Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed partial estima to ho.2 for the g�ra de, curb and walk improvement on -''nderson avenue from Kind Street to Bu1_la Avenue, in accordance with the terms of the contract between the city and H. ±•?.
