Board met in regular session at 9 A. M. All members present. Slinutes
of meetings held April 8th., and April 9th., 1930, read and approved.

In all of the above nailed improvement resolutions the Board . hereb
orders that on the 7th. , day of lv!ay I9309 this Board will meet in their office in they
City Hall at 7-I5 P. J&, to heir and receive remonstrances from all persons whose pro-
perty ma-T- be affected by said improvements and rill decide kheCher the benefits tothe
severel lots and parce?s of land liable to be assessed for said improvements -,will be
equal to theestiatmated costs of sane as reported by the City Engineer. The Board

was duly and le"gally confirmed by the Board of Public forks of the City of South
Bend, Indiana and

Whereas, said resolution as so adopted and. confirmed was submitted to
the Common oouncil of ,the City of South Bend, Indiana, for its action thereon and was
by Ordinance No.285I duly confirmed and approved by said Common Council on the I4th.,
day of April 1930. Therefore,

Be it resolved, by the Board of Public Works of said City that in
pursuance to Section 2 of an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
approved March Ist. , I923. being Chapter 36 of the Acts of 1923, the New York Central
Railroad Company, the Trunk ti�estern Railroad Company and the New Jersey, Indiana

and. Illinois Railroad pa.ny be and they are hereby ordered_ to prepare or cause to
be prepared and filed within 'sixty (60) days after notice as provided by said act,
complete ple.ns and s fecifications, the same to be in purticuiar covering all work
required by said Resolution to be done except pavement, sidewalks, drainage and approa
! es.
Be it further resolved, that the Bcerd of Public Works does hereby
order plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer for the Board of
Public Works andd filed in the office of said Board fcr any and a11 works required to
be done in connection with such improvement for pavement, sidewalk, drainage and appro
i� es and such work as shall be required on that part of the streets the gxad e of which
it is ch^.nged by such improvement or any ane all streets where the improvement of the
same is provided for in said Modified Resolution No.5. In all cases where the street
• ! or highway is to re carried under the railroad track or tracks, the pains and spedifi-
cations for approaches shall only include the vork required to be done outside of
the right of �,ay of the railroads affected.
At the same time that such plans and specifications are filed by
an T and all of mch railroad compa.nie s or by the Board of Public ¢'orks , such comp-anies
l and such Board shall also file with the said Board, an itemized estimate of the corn-
plete cost of the work specified in the plans and specifications so filed by it or
