The Board approved the Excavation Bond of Benjamin `i'ui-hock in the
j onount of I000.00 signed by the Metropolitan Casualty Insurnace Company.
Upon the recommendation of Ivm. F. 0 tills,: the Board, the Board
approved the installation of a 1000 lumen light, bracket construction from overhead
service in th e alley east and. west bbtween Euclid and Cleve land Avenue , . connect ing,
with,Bena Court; at a cost of Q22.00 per year.
Upon,the recommendation cf m. F. Qualls, the Board approved the
installation of -a. 4000 lumen lamp, past arm construction from over head, service at
the intersection of Sampson aid Donald Street, at a cost of 45.00 per year,
Upon the recommendation of vvm. F walls, the Board approved the
installatioli of a 4000 lumen: lamp, mast arm construction from over head service at
the intersection of -29 th . , Street and Wall Street , at a cost of 45.00 per year.
Upon the recommendation of gym. F. Zualls, the Board approve the
installation of a 4000 lumen lamp, mast arm construction, pendent fixture, from
over head service at the intbrsection of 30th., Street and North Side Boulevard, at a
cost of 445.00 per ,year..
TheBoard approved the petition of the South -bend Tribune to erect
a score board of Lafayette Street, fre the period of one week.
The Board approved the petition of the South Bend Community Chest
for placing a Kanner across C01fax Avenue from the Elks Temple to the Chamber of
Coipmeree Building for the period, of ten days.
The Board approved the estimate of the General asbestos and Supply
Company for water proffing the galls at the Alarm Station at a. cost of �62.00, same
to he paid oit of repair fund.
The .Board approved the contract with 'ahitcomb and .Keller for the
Frading of the alley south of Victoria Street from alle77 east_of riia.mi Street to Clyde
.8treet under Improvement Resolution No.228.8 in the an.o �.nt of �,735.60. The Board also
approved.the construction.bond of same for 100`,•6 of the contract price, signed by Stand
and Surety and C`,sualty Company,
City Engineer, filed plans -and the Board adopted said plans togeth
with the follaxiing vacation Resolutions:
Vacation `resolution E'lo.2307 for the Vacation of a. part of Lot 9 in
Gallaphers Subdivision to South Bend, Indiana, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning -Pt the norhl.east corner of lot 9 in Gallaghers �ubdivisio
thence south along the east line of said lot a distance of ten feet, (I01 ) to a. point,
thence west along a. straight line ten feet (101 ) distant from and parallel to the nort
line of said lot 9, a distance of ninety-three and fourteen hundredths feet (93,W ),

By unanimous vote of ::the Boerd, .the 'Clerk was ordered to advise the Board
of public bafety that this Board. of corks recommends that no parking be allowed on
Sample Street from Arnold Street to the St. Joseph River Bridge, excepting along t1lose
portions �=h.ich have been widened.

This being the date set, adjourned. meeting of �'lednesday October 9th., I929,
was held at I0: 00 A. TZ. All _�mb ers present. City Engine er, H. G. 'Nray, also present.
This being the date set, hearing vas had on Improvement resolution No.2297 for
the pavement of the alley east of I=iami 'tree t from Victoria Street to Al tgeld Street.
(See files for cop-.- of resolution.)
In the above named improvement resolution, a written remonstrance was filed, an
the Board being fully advised in the premises, fines that the benefits to the several
lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed. for said improve-nant, will be equal to
the estima-Fed. cost of same. The Board, therefore, decides to over rule said remonstta:
es and takes final action on said resolution and declares same in all things ratified,
conf irmed and approved without modifice t ion. The Boerd now orders said remonstrc nce
deliverer to the engineer for a report as to ti-e resident property owners whose signa-
tures appeer on this remonstrance.
