Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. 1". All members present.
The Board signed the contract with Albert Construction �o., for the pavement
on 1'`onroe " treet from Olive to tal ey under Improvement Resolution . No.2270 in the amount
of JI0,570.I7. The Board also approved the construction bond of same for 50% of the
contract price signed by Inland -Bonding Company.
• The Board signed the contract with Albert Gonstruct ion Company .for the pave -
improvement on Grace Otreet from Olive 'Street to Ka.ley Street under Improvement
Resolution .No.2264 in the amount of JI0,052.95. The Board also approved the constructio:
'bond of same for 50% of the contract price signed by Inland Bonding Company.
The Board signed the contract with 'Williston Construction Company for the
grade, curb, walk and pavement on the south 301 of Crumstown Avenue from East line of
Westchester Ist. , Unit to a point I27 feet west of the west line of Lake Street under
improvement Resolution No.2295 in the amount of 19,050.63. The Board also approved the
construction bond of sane for 501 of the contract price signed by Inland Bonding Co.
The Board signed the contract with `..Villiston Construction Company for the
pavement improvement on .the east half of Twentieth Street from South line of Lot 80
Christman Place Addition to N. Line of Jefferson Blvd., under Improvement Resolution No.
i 2263 in the amount of 11,293.90. The Board also approved the construction bond of
:same for 5 0% of the contract price signed by Inland Bonding Company.
The Board signed the contract with Williston Construction Company for the
grade, curb, walk, sever and pave-ent improvement on Iowa, Lase, Sheridan, Prast and
Easement Streets all in estchester End., Unit under Improvement Resolution No.2294
in the amount of 189,6I3.16. The Board also approved the construction bond of same for 1
50� of the contract price signed by Inland Bonding Company.

• Partial estimate No. I for the Grade, curb and walk improvement on the south
side of LaSalle Avenue from eatt curb line of Eddy Street to the west line of Lot 33
j in TuhnAs Ist., Sunnyside Sub -Div., in accordance with the terms of the contract between
the City and Eston Ball Contractor under Improvement Resolution No.2248. The Board sign
and approved same in the amount of �458. 80.
. Partial estimate No.I for the Grade, curb and vralk improvement on Grant
Street from the south curb line of Washington Avenue to the south line of Merry Avenue
':in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and Eston Ball, contractor,11
!: under Improvement Resolution No.2250. The Board signed and approved same in the amount 11

for a change in the type of pavement for the improvement of Lebanon Street under Improve
�ment Resolution No.2268: �'
Pear Sirs:
With return of the attached petition for change of type of
pavement on Lebanon Street Resolution No.2268, I submit the following report:
There are l2 resident freeholders, 7 of who4i have signed the
petition for sheet asphalt pavement. This constitutes a majority and I would there-
fore recommend that a final order be made for sheet asphalt.

Dear Sirs:
'dith return of attached petition for a change of type of pave-
ment on Huey 6treet Resolution No.2260, I submit the following report:
There are 37 resident freeholders, 23 of whom have signed the
petition request a sheet asphalt pavement. This constitutes a ma jority and I would
therefore recommend that a final order be made for sheet asphalt.

Petitions having been filed for a change in the type of pavement
for the improvement of Lebanon Street from B,,oadway to Indiana Avenue under Improve-
ment Resolution No.2268, the Board this 4th., day of aeptember, I929, hereby makes
a final order for., sheet asphalt light traffic pavement as the t7rTe of pavement with
which said street shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to
Albert Construction Company at their lo:r bid of t4,55I.42 for sheet asphalt.
Petition having been filed by a majority of resident property
owners for a change in the t.rpe of pavement other than that specified in the prelim-
inary order for the pavement of Huey Street from Lincoln Fray 'jest to Elwood Avenue
under Improvement Resolution No.2260, the Board this 4th., day of September 1929,
hereby makes a final order for sheet asphalt pavement heavy traffic as the type of
pavement with :ihich said street shall be improved and awards the contract for said
improvement to Premier Construction Company at their lour bid of 22,894.I0 for sheet
asphalt.

to Sampson Street under Improvement Resolution No.2273, the Board this 4th., day of
September 1929, hereby makes a preliminary order for sheet asphalt heavy traffic
pavement as the type of pavement with which said street shall be improved and sets the

for a change in the type of pavement other than that specified in the preliminary order

City Engineer, H. CT. Wray, filed the Final Estimate for the heavy traffic
sheet asphalt pave: ent improvement on Yain L'treet from Fairview "_venue to the alley
south of odds ide Street, in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City
and the Williston Oonstruction L'ompany, contractors, under Improvement Resolution No.
2226. The Board signed and approved same in the amount of ')26,I65.23

filed against the improvement on Prairie -'venue under Improvement Resolution No.2.275:

improvement be advertised for bids.

This being the date set, hearings were had on the following primary assessmen
rolls:
Assessment roll for the pavement of the crest of4rnsperger Street from

Assessment roll for the pavement of Beyer Avenue from Eddy Street to Mishawak
Avenue under Improvement Resolution Ne.225I.
Assessment roll for the pavement of the alley south of Monroe street from
Carroll Street to Ist. , alley west under Improvement Resolution No.2249.
Assessment roll for the pavement of the alley north of LaSalle Avenue from
Scott Street to Taylor Street under Improvement Resolution No.2237.
Assessment roll for the pavement of the alley east of Lincoln slay East from
.,'onroe Street to Arch Avenue una er Improvement Resolution No.2236.
Assessment roll for the grade, curb and wal'c improvement on Campeau Street

In all of the above named dssessment rolls, no remonstrators appeared and
no -written remonstrances were filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises
finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts shodw
on said assessment rolls. The Board, therefore, takes final action on said assessment
rolls and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modifica
tion and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment rolls delivered
to the department of Finance.
The 3oard approved the"uarantee Bond of R. "l. Reed & Sons for the pavement
of the west 1 of Lrns-oerger Street u der Improvement -resolution No.2I76 in the amount
of 459.29 signed by Southern Surety ompany.
The Board approved the Guarantee .Bond of Joseph Bothwell for the local s ewer
• ! improvement in Olive ''treet from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street under Improvement
Resolution No.2233 in the amount of 242.39 signed by Columbia Casualty Co.

This being the date set, hearing.was had on the assessment
roll for the p'Street from Mishawa'avement of 35th. , avenue to the 0. T. IN. R. R.
Co., under Improvement Resolution No.2195.
In the above named assessment roll, remonstrators appeared but
no .remonstrances were filed and the Board, being fully advised ,in the premises, finds
that the several lots and parcels of land have been. benefited in the amounts named
on said primary assessment roil. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action
on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and
approved without modification and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said
assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance.
The Board approved the Continuation certificate for the
Bond of C. ;hil�.delphia. . Randolph in the amount of
Company of I,000.00 signed by Constitution Indemnity
This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resol-a-
tion No.228I for the pavement of Liberty Street from the south line of Division St.
to the north line of Sample Street. (See files for co-,)y of resolution.)
In the above named improvement resolution, a written remonstrance
was filed by Walter 'R. Arnold representing thirty four property owners on said street..`
After hearing all persons interested in said resolution, the Board decides to continue
,hearing until September IIth., 1929, at !hich time City Attorney I. S. Romig will
advise the Board regarding the jurisdiction of said Board in the matter..
This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolu-
tion No.2280 for the grading of the alley south of Donald street from Robinson Street
to 'Sampson Street. (See fil es for copy of resolution.)
In the above named improvement .resolution, no remonstrators
appeared and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in
the premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of 1�-nd liable
to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as,
reported by the City Engineer, and therefore, the Board takes final action on said
improvement resolution No.22S0 and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed
anal approved without modification.
In the above named improvement resolution, the Board, hereby,
orders that sewed proposals *rill be received by the Board up to I0:00 A. T'. of the.
I7th., day of September I929. The Board further orders that notices of said ropo-s-
als shall': be published on the 6th. day of September and on the I3th. , day of Eleptembe
1929 in the South Bend T1ews Times and Tribune according to law.

for the pavement on Chapin Street from north ine of Ford Street to the north curb j
line of prairie Avenue under Improvement Resolution 77o.2192.
In the above named assessment roll, a fear remonstrators appeared
and upon the request of of some of the property -)wners present, the Board decides to
continue hearing on said roll until Wednesday, September IIth., I929.
This being the date set, hearing was had_ onthe assessment roll
for the grade, curb and walk improvement on Malt Street from "Noodside Street to Dean
Str-et under Improvement Resolla.tion 7o.I847.
In the a )ove named assessment roll, no -remonstrators appeared
and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premis-
es, ta'ces final action on said roll and decl�.-^es sane in all things ratified, confirmed
and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roil
delivered to the Department of Finance.
