Yinutes of meetings hled August 6th. , and August 7th. , 1929, read and approved. City '1'ngineer, I.T. G. Wray, filed the following primarDr assessment rolls: Assessment roll for the sewer in Chalfant Street from Vialsh 'treet to a point IO' east of west line of Lot 150 in Replat of Park Place 2nd. , addition under Improvement'', Resolution No.I790. Ass ssment roll for the sheet asphalt pavement improvement. on Van Buren .Street from Cuhsing treet to Lawndale Avenue under improvement Resolution No.21680' In both of the above named assessment rolls, the Board, hereby, orders that on the _28th., day of August I929, this Board will meet in their office in the City. Hall at 7-I5 P. M., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose.property_has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said primary assessment rolls or in a greater or less sum than that named on said rolls. The -Board further orders'' that notices of -said hearings hhall be published on the 23rd. , day of August and on the 24th. , day of A.�gu.st I929, in the Oouch Bend News Times and Tribune according to law. No petitions having been filed for a change in the type of pavement other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of Foster Street from Howard (Street to a point 9.75 feet south of north line of ''t. Vincen-t Street under Improvement Mesolution No.2247, the Board this 13th., day of August I929, hereby makes a final order ;for concrete pavement heavy traffic as the type of pavement with which said street shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to Hoban And Roach at their low bid of 5,092.70 for concrete-' pavement light traffic. No petitions having been filed for a change in the type of pavement other than j�that speiefied in the preliminary order for the pavement or resurfacing of Tonti Avenue from Tecumseh Avenue to Irquois street under Improvement Resolution No.2256, the Board 'this I3th. , day of August 1929, hereby makes a final order for sheet asphalt reffurface �s the type of pavement with which said street shall be improved and awards the contract 1,for said improvement to Williston Construction Company at their low bid of $16,457:.I0. The Board approved the following Guarantee Bonds: Guarantee bond of Rieth Riley Const. Co., for the pavement on 26th. , Street nder Improvement Resolution No.2I94, signed by Southern ''u rety company. Guarantee Bond of Albert Construction Company for the pavement on Kenwood venue under Improvement Resolution No.2I69, signed by Inland Bonding ompany. Guarantee Bond of C. R'eesh for the lgcal sewer on Ejmv ood Avenge under ovement Resolution No'.2I55, signed by United tat es Guarantee ompaijy. Guarantee Bond of Hoban and Roach for the pavement on Bissell Street under mprovement Resolution No.2I85, signed by Southern Surety Company. Guarantee Bond of Rieth Riley Conx}struction Company for the. sewer and pavement mprovement on Broadway under Improvement Resolution No.2I87, sued by Southern Surety ompany. Guarantee Bond of Albert Construction Company for the pavement improvement on ongley Avenue from Johnson Street to Wilber Street under Improvement Resolution No. M , signed by Inland Bonding ompany. Guarantee Bond of Albert Construction Company for the pavement on Florence venue under Improvement Resolution Ito. 223I, signed by Inland Bonding Company. City Engineer, H. G. :'Dray, filed plans, specifications and estimates and the oard adopted said plans and specifications together with the following improvement esolutions: Improvement ,Resolution No.2280 for the grading of the alley south of Donald treet from Robinson Street to Sampson Street. (See files for copy of resolution.) Improvement Resolution No.228I for the pavement of Liberty Street from the outh line of Division Street to the north line of Sample Street. (See files for copy f resolution.) In both of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board, hereby, - orders lJ 0 • Tuesday, _August Lath. , 1929. • 9 u • C] 0 0 ghat on the 4th., day of September, 1929, this Board will.meet in their office in the Gity Fall at 7-T5 P. 21t., to hear and receive remonstrrt.nces from all persons whose pro perty is liable to be assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable• to be -assessed foR said impro vements, will be equal to the estimated costs of same as reported by the ity Engineer. The Board further orders that notices of said?hearings. shall be published on the I6thl , dayof,"-August and on the 23rd. , day of August 1929, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law. Pay roll claims in the amount of 8,995.83 for various departments were signe, and approved by the Board. A pay roll claim of the 411gineering i)epartment in the amount of 196.00 was signed and approved by the Board, and the Board, hereby, orders City Controller to pay same out of -Track Elevation fund. The . Board si ed the contract frith TT. IT. Barnes for the pavement of the alley south of Division- Street from Scott Otreet to Chapin street under Imrrovement Resolution No.2257 in the amount of 1,697.20. The Board also approved the construction bond of same 6n the amount of 100% of the contract price signed by United States Fidelit; and Guaranty ompany. - The_Board signed the Contract with the Northern Indiana Construction Company for. the Eckman ''treet Sub -Trunk Sewer under Improvement Resolution No.2279 in the amount of I3,347.20. The Board also approved the construction bond of same in the amount of I00 of the contract price signed by Great American Indemnity Company. Meeting adjourned at II-30 A. y.
