Bids having been received for the pavement on Bendix. Drive from the south
line of Li#den;Avenue to the south line of Bertrand Street under Improvement Resolution
No 227I, the Board this 248h.-, day of J�ly I929, hereby awards the contract for said
improvement to the Albert onstruct ion ompany at ` their low bid of T3, I38. IO for
sheet asphalt pavement.

MSDAY DULY 30th., 1929.
Board met in regular session at 9 A. IT. All members present. Piinutes of
meetings held July 23rd. , and July 24th. , 1929, read and approved.
The Board signed the contract with Albert Construction Company for the pave-
ment improvement on Bendix Drive from the south line of Linden Avenue to ---the south line
of Bertrand -Street under Improvement Resolution No.227I in the amount of $I3,I38.I0.
The Board also approved the construction bond of same in the amount of 50,E of the contras
price signed by Inland Bonding Company.
The Board signed the contract with Hoban and Roach f nr the pavement of the
.,alley east of Lincoln Way East from Monroe Street to Arch Avenue under Improvement
Resolution No.2236 in the amount of -$I9858.35. The Board alsoryappmoved the construction
bond of same for 50% of the contract price signed by Southern Surety Company.
The Board approved and accepted deeds from the Bendix Realty Company and from
the Motor Industries Company for land necessary for the widening of the pavement on
Bendix Drive under Improvement 'resolution No.2271% and the Board hereby orders clerk
to have same recorded.
This being the date set, bids were received, opened and read for the following
improvements:

of Foster Street from Howard Street to a point 9.75 feet
Vincent Street under Improvement Resolution No.2247.

Bids for the` pavement or resurfacing of Tonti Avenue from Tecumseh
Avenue to the west line of Irquois Street under Improvement Resolution No.2256. Bids

This being the date set, continued hearing was had on the assess-
ment roll showing the awards of damages and assessments of benefits in the matter of the•
Vacation of a part of 22nd., Street under Vacation Resolution No.22I7.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board decides to continue
hearing until August 6th., I929, at IG:00 A. ?.
The Board approved the exlvatio:d b9nd of Rocco Simeri in the
amount of M000.00 signed by the Fidelity abd asualty ompany of New York.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the improvement
Resolution No.2263 for the pavement of the east t/2 of 20th. , Street from the south line
of lot 80 in Christman Place Addition to the north line of Jefferson Blvd.
In the above named improvement resolution, A' written remonstrance
was filed by George a Harropp but the 3oard, being fully advised in the premises , finds
that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for
said improvement, will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City
Engineer. Therefore, the Board, decides to over rule the remonstrance and declares
said improvement resolution in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without
modification.
In the above named improvement resolution No.2263, the Board, hereby orders that sealed proposals will be received, opened and read in the Office of
the Board up to 10:00 A. M., of the 20th.; day of'Augast, 1929. The Board further
orders that notices of said proposals shall be .published on the 9t.b. , day of August
and on the I6th. , day of August, I929, in the ''outh Bend Yews Times and Tribune accordin
to law.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans and the Board adopted said
plans to6ether with the following vacation resolutions;

TMiller Guy, attorney, filed a n titian for the improvement of
what is known as 4,r Road, as ordered by thr County commissioners of St. Joseph County.
Said petition referred to City Engineer for approval.
i The Board approved pay roll claim for vario-s de partments in

The Board also approved claims for various departments in the

City ngineer, H. G? Wray, filed the following primary assessment rolls:
Assessment roll for the pavement on "mith Street from west line of HuW
Street to the east line of Olive street under Improvement' Resolution No.2I67.
Assessment roll for the pavement on Broadway Street from High Street to
Miami Street under Improvement Resolution No.2187.
In both of the above named assessment Dolls,' the Board, hereby' orders that
on the 7th., day of August I929, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall
at 7-I5 P. if. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property
has been assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the several lots and
parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts named on said primary assessment
rolls. The Board _further orders that notices of ha.id hearings shall be published -on
the 2nd.,9 day of August -and on the " 3rd. , day of August I929, in the South Bend News
Times and Tribune according to law:
