F. qual la, the -Board, approved a petition of the Indiana Bell telephone Company for under ground conduit at the entraee !; to the Nevi Oft,Fellow Building and the South Bend Building and Loan' Association Building as shown on' attached plans-. . The Board approved plans -for a driveway on Lot , 9 in Martin and T`utts Additi`on, owned by Earl R. Feldman. t City Engineer, H. G. Wray, sub itted the following report on %he remonstrance filed against the pavement of 31st. , Street: Board of Public 'forks South -Bend, Indiana. ;j tear Sirs j With return of attached 8emonstrance against the ga proposed improve- ment of 3Tst. , Street from 1tshawaIca Avenue to Pl-easant Street, I submit the _following j� report: There are twenty(20) freeholders residing along this proposed improvement, seventeen of whom have. signed the remonstrance. This constitutes a major - I ity and I would, therefore, recommend that ho further action be taken in the matter. . Very truly yours, H.. G. Wray, _ City Civil Engineer. Whereupon the Board decides to take finalaction on said improvement resolution No;2255 for the pavement of 3Ist. , . treet from Mishawaka Avenue to Pleasant Street and declares all proceedings had with reference to said improvement null ' and. • void and the proceedings closed. This being the date set, continued hearing vas had on the assessment roll. - the sewer in Southwood 'venue from Harriett Street to Greenlawn Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2I42. In the above named assessment roll, the Board decides to take final action on said moil and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the procee�ings closed. 'The Board now order said assessment roll delivered. to the Department of Finance. This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution for the pavement of the alley south of Division street from was treet to Chapin Street. (See files for copy of resolution.) Resolution No.2257. In the above named improvement resolution, no remonstrators appeared' and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that the benefits .to the several lots and parce'.s of land liable to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of said improvement as reported'; by the City Engineer. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said resolur tion and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification.. In this improvement resolution No.2257, the Board now orders that sealed proposals for the construction of said improvement will be received up to IO:00 A VY of the 6th. , day of August I929. The Board further orders that notices for said proposals shaJ,l be published on the 26th., day of July and on the 2nd., day of -August I929 , in the youth bend News Times and Tribune according to law. The Board approved Guarantee Bond of the Albert Construction Oompany for the pavement on Diner Street under Improvement Resolution No.2I63. in the amount of $66 7.40, signed by Inland Bonding Companyl The Board approved tIAe guarantee Bond of the Albert Construction Company for the pavement improvement on ranklin Street under Improvement Resolution No.2I78 in the amount of $1,511.60 signed by Inland Bonding Company. The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of the Albert Construction Company for the pavement improvement on Catalpa . Avenue under ,Improvement Resolution No.2I6I in the amount of $07.97 signed 'by Inland.Bonding Company.. The Board approved the excavation bond of Thomas Brinker in the amount of $I,000.00 signed by Detroit Fideli k and Surety Company. This being the date- set, continued hearing was had on the assessment rollffor the• Vacation of apart of 22nd., street under Vacation Resolution No.2217. In the above named assessment roll the board decides to continue hearing until July 30th., 1929 at I0:-00.,' .. The Board signed the contract With Hoban and Roach for the pavement of the alley north of LaSalle Avenue from Taylor Otreet to Scott Street under Improve- ment Resolution No.2237 in. the amount of I275.25. The Board also approved the construct- Ion bond of same for 50% of the contract price signed by Southern Surety fro. This being the date set, .hearings were had on the following assess- ment rollsf: Assessment roll for the sewer improvement on Olive Street from Lincoln 'gay West to Elwood Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2I43. Assessment roll for the pavement improvement on Catalpa Avenue from south line Cotter Street to south line S. J. S. B. , and -S. R. R. under Improvement Resolution No. 2f 61. Assessment roll for the pavement improvement oo Miner Street from east line Madison Park Addition to west line of Harriett Street under Improvement Resolution No.2I63. In all of the above named assessment rolls, no remonstrators appeared and_ no written remonstrances were filed .and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited in Ithe amounts named on said assessment rolls. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said primary assessment rolls., and declares same in all things ratified:' confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance.
