Edward Pfieffer and David Gibson, appraisors in connection with the opening
and extension of Linden Avenue and Bendix Drive under Condemnation Resolution No.2243,
filed the primary assessment roll showing the awards of damages and assessments of
` "' benefits under said condemnation resolution No.2243.

In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders. that on the 3lsst.
day of Jul-t490aid Board will meet in their offi6e at 7-I5 P. ?�-., . to hear and receive
remonstrances from all persons whose property has been affected by said condemnation
and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land have been ar will be
benefited or damaged in the amounts named on said roll. The Board further orders that
notices of said awards of damages and assessments of benefits be delivered according
to law.

Board met in regular session at 7-I5 P. T`. ''r. R. Hinkle absent.
The Board signed the contract with Albert Construction Company for the pave
.ment on Bendix Drive from the south ling of Division Street to the north line of Sample.
:Street under Improvement Resolution No.2229 in the amount of 29,395.35. The Board
also approved the construction bond of same for 501 of the contract price signed by
Inland Bonding Company.
The Board signed the contract with 'Jilliston Construction Company for the
pavement of-7ilson Avenue, 20th., I9th., and 21st., Streets all under Improvement Res
olution No.2262 in the amount of 30,223.95. The Board also approved the construction
bond of same for 50% of the contract price signed by inland Bonding company.
The Board approved the luarantee bond of '. illiston Construction Com7.ny
for the pavement and sewer Improvement on Lincoln Terrace Addition under Improvement
Resolution T"To.2IO2, in the amount of 92761.33 signed by Inland Bonding Company.
The 3oard approved the `"-uarantee Bond of she Jilliston Construction Oompany
for the pa=rement improvement on ryreenlalvn Avenue under Improvement Resolution "To.2I4I
in the amount of 959.54, signed by Inland 3onding ^omr.�any.
This being; the date set, hearings were had rolls: on the following primary assessment
Assessment roll for the grading of the alley e st of T-Tigh Street from
Fairview Avenue to Irvington Avenue under Improvement Resolution E`To.2I90.
Assessment roll for the grading of the alley south of Fairview Avenue from
gh 'treet to Dale Avenue under Improvement Resoluti-n Yo.2I9I.
Assessment roll for the pavement of Treenlawn Avenue from Y-Ki.riley Avenue to
tFJashing� on Avenue under Improvement Resolution -To.214I.
In all of t'_ae above nar;ed assessment rolls, no remonstrators appeared and
no written remonstrances were filed and the Board, being filly advised in the premises
(finds that the seTreral lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts
nap: ed oil said primary assessment rolls, and therefore, the Board decides to take final
action on said primary rolls and declares same in all thing's ratified, confirmed and
;;approved without modification and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said
assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance.

City Engineer, H. T. ,'Tray, submitted the tabulations of bids for the
sidewalk Improvement on the south side of LaSalle Avenue from the east curb line of
Eddy Street to the west line of Lot 33 Kuhns Ist. , aunnyside Sub -Division under Improve
ment Resolution No.2248. Tabulation is as folloys:

bid of 509.32.
This bein the date set, hearing was had on Improve,:,ent Resolution
No.2247 for the pavement of Foster Street from Howard Street to a point 9.75 feet south
of north line of at. Vincent Street. ( See files for copy of resolution.)
In the above named improvement resolution, no remonstrators appeared
and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises
finds that the benefits to the several lots and parce'_s of land liable to be assessed
for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the
City f ngineer. • The Board therefore decides to ta'ie final action on said resolution
and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution

for the joa vement or resurfacing of Tonti Avenue from Tecumseh Avenue to the
west line of Trquois Street. (See files for copy of resolution.)
In the above na-�ed improvement Resolution, remonstrators appeared but
no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the -_)remises
finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assesed�for
said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City
i Engineer. The Board, therefore, decides to over rule said remonstrators and declares

''• In both of the above named imp»ovement .resolutions, the Board hereby
1' orders that their will receive, open and read sealed proposals for the construction of
said improvements up n_ to I0:00 A. y., of the 30th. , day of Julry I9°)9. The Board further
orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on the I9th. day of July and
on the 26t1i. , day of July I929 in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to
law.
This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.
j 2255 for the pavement of Thirty-first Street from TlUshawa'ca Avenue to Pleasant Street.

In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared and
a written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being Hilly advised in the premises,
decides to over rule said written remonstrance and finds that the benefits to the
several lots and parcels of lmnd liable to be assessed for said improvement will be equal
to .the estimated cost of same as reported by the City Engineer. The Board, therefore,
ta'lces final action on said improvement resolution No.2255 and declares same in all things'
ratifi ed, confirmed and approved. The Board orders said remonstrance delivered to
City Engineer for report on the resiz3--nt property owners who have signed said remonstrance.
This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.
2254 for the pavement and widening of dine Street from the south curb line of Lincoln
Way East to mitring Avenue. (See files for copy of resolution.)
In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared
protesting against this improvement and the Board after hearing all persons interested
in said improve -rent resolution, decides to continue hearing on same until July 3Ist.,
I929, at 7-I5 P. fT• .
-On the recommendation of City -ttorney, I. S. Romig, the Board signed
a contract with C. D. ?iildebrRnd in the matter of the condemnation of property on
Sample and Fellows 'streets under Condemnation resolutions No.2I97 and 2198, in which
the city agrees to construction pavement, sewer and water connections, sidewalk and
curb and that no assessments will be rude against said, .Hild.ebrand.

;;the Board adopted said plans and specifications together with the following Improvement
Resolutions:
Improvement Resolution No.2265 for the pavement of Greenlawn Avenue from

Improvement Resolution No.2266 for the pavement of Olive Street from north
curb line of Lincoln ,Way 114est to Elwood Avenue. (See files for copy of resolution.)
Improvement Resolution No.2264 for the pavement of Grace Street fromi.
Street to Xaiey Street. (See files for copy of resolution.)
Improvement Resolution No.2270 for the pavement on 1"onroe Street from Olive
Street to Ka.ley Street. (See files for copy of resolution.)
Improvement Resolution No.2267 for the pavement of Swygart avenue from 2nd. ,
alley north of Indiana Avenue to concrete pavement on Prairie Avenue. (See files for

Improvement Resolution No.2268 for the pavement of Lebanan Street from Broad
way to Indiana Avenue. (See files for copy of resolution.)
In all of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board hereby orders
that said Board will meet in their office on the 7th. , day of August I929, at 7-I5 P.1%
to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property may be assessed for
i said improvements and will decide whether the benefits to the several lots and parcels o:
:;land liable to be assessed for said improvements will be equal to the estimated costs of
same as reported by the City Migineer. The Board further orders that notices of said
hearings shall be published on the I9th., day of July and on the 26th., day of July 1929
'!in the South Bend Ne,..Ts Times and Tribune according to law and that property owners be
notified according to law.
The Board approved a claim of 7,059.32 in connection with Track elevation
• wor'_1c in the matter of Condemnation Resolution No.2I971 as shown on assessment roll
under said condemnation.
