Board met in special session at I0:00 A. M. All members-Dresent.
City Engineer, H. C. Wray, filed the following tabulations of
bids:

Bids having been received for she grade, curb and walk improvement
on Campeau Street from the east line of Park Place 3rd., Addition to Harriett Street
under Improvement Resolution No.2233, the Board this 26th., day of June 1929, hereby
awards the contract for said improvement to H. N. Barnes at his low bid of 2,759.69.
Bids having been received for the pavement on Beyer Avenue from
the east curb line of Eddy Street to Yishawata Avenue under Improvement Resolution
No.225I, the Board this 26th. , day of June 1929, hereby awards the contract for said
improvement to 'lilliston Construction Company at their low bid of 12,843.50 for
concrete heavy traffic pavement.
Bids having been received for the navement of certain streets
in connection with Track Elevation lior'c as shown under Improvement Resolution No.
2I25A, the Board this 26th. , day of June 1929, hereby awards the contract for said
improvement to Reith Riley Const. Co., at their low bid of 153,636.40 for sheet
asphalt heavy traffic pavement.
Bids having been received for the pavement of Elmer Street from
Lincoln ''iay °lest to Elwood Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2230, the Board
this 26th. , day of June I929, hereby makes a preliminary order for sheet as-,p alt
pavement as the ty-pe of ravement with which said street shall be improved and sets
the 9th., day of July I929, as the time when said Board shall either pass on petition
for a change in the type of ravement other than that specified in the preliminary
order, award the contract or reject all bids.
Bids having been received for the pavement of Florence Avenue
from '7ilber Street to Johnson atreet under Improvement Resolution No.2231, the Board
this 26th. , day of June, 1929, hereby makes a -preliminary order for sheet asphalt

filed by rror.erty ovmers on pox Street ascing for a change in the type of navement
from that called for in the preliminary order, which was approved by the Board:
"The Board of -ublic "or_cs,
South Bend, Indiana.
Dear Sirs:
`1ith the return of attached 1�etition for an asphalt type of pavement on Fox
Street between Ijeer Street and Sampson Otreet, I submit the following retort:
"There are 38 resident pro-erty owners along this proposed improvement,
24 of whom signified their preference for an asphalt ravei:ent. This constitutes a
majority and I would, therefore, recom-end that a final order be made for sheet asphalt
pavement.

Petition having been filed by a r--iajority of resident property owners on Fox
Street between Leer Street and Sampson Street asking that the final order for the
pavement on said street be changed from concre to pavement to sheet asphalt pavement
heavy traffic, the Board this 2nd. , day of July, I929, hereby ma ces a final order for
sheet asphalt pavement heavy traffic as the type of raverrent =,pith vihich said street sha
be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to Keith Riley Const. Co.,
at their low bid of 290566.60.
