Board met in regular session at 9 A. All members present. l�:-inutes
of meeting held Vay 2%th. , I929, read' and approved.
The Board approved the �- enewal certificate for i%ccavation Bond in favor
of the Indiana Bell Telephone Co., signed by the American Surety Company of New York
tin the amount of --�I, 000.00.
The Board annro�ned the renewal certificate for bond in favor of I. 71.
Staples in the. amount of II,000.00 signed by the 4merican "urety Company of New York.
The Board approved a Marquise to be constructed in the building in front
of 130 N. Vain street for the South Bend Inn.
This being the date set, bids were received , opened and read for the
construction of pavement on the west one half of Bendix rive from Humboldt Street to
Lincoln .flay West under Improvement resolution No.2222. -aids are as follows:

This being the date set, bids were received, opened and read for the
construction of pavement on the south one half of Humboldt Street from 3endix Drive
to the west line of lot 39 in ialey's 2nd., T•incoln T3ighway Addition under Im-orove-
ment lesolution No.222I. Bids are as follows:

the Board adopted the following improvement resolutions:

Huey's Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana. (See files for copy of resolution.)
Improvement Resolution '7o.224I for the paver.nent improvement on Johnson
Street from the north line of ylood Avenue to the north line of seller Street. (See

Imrroyerpent Resolution "To.2242 for the ravement improvement on ITichigan
Street from the south line of South Street to a point 25 feet north of the first alley
south of South Street. (See files for copy of resolution. )
In all of the above named improvements, property owners waived all object
ions on and in defense to any defect in said procee('ings, and to any =Tiolation in pro
cedure for the construction of street improvements as fixed by law. ';thereupon the
Board proceeded to receive, open and read the following sealed proposals for the
�i construction of said improvements:

Bids having been received for the construction of a local se,: -per in Fremont Street
between Humboldt 6treet and Elwood Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.22I8, the
Board this 4th., day of June 1929, hereby awards the contract for said improvement to
Joseph Rothwell at his lour bid of I,973.94.
Bids having been received for the construction of a local sewer in Ierwins?ci Street
between Broo1cfield ''treet and College Street under Improvement Resolution No.22I9, the
Board this 4th., day of June 1929, hereby awards the contract for said improvement to
Northsrrn Indiana Const. Co., at their low bid of 639.60.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll showing the awards
of damages and the assessments of benefits in the condemnation of a nart of 'dine Street a
for the approach to the Bridge under Condemnation Resolution No.22II.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remon-
strances were filed and the Board, being fully advised in the rremises, finds that the
several lots and parcels of land have been benefited and damaged in the amounts s'_own
on said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment
roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modificatio
and the rroceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll delivered to the
De-nartment of Finance.
City Engineer, H. T. -.7ray, submitted partial estimate 7o.I for the sidewalk improve j
ment on j,ngella_Avenue from the east lire of Harter Heights Addition to Notre Dame Avenge
and on Po'-cagon Street from the east line of Harter Tiei:�hts Addition to Angella Avenue,

in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and E. T. Tranberg con-
tractor. The Board signed and approved same in the amount of 82,688.I2.
City Engineer, Ti. G. `gray, . -.submitted rartial estimate No.I for the grading of the
alley east of 7ligh Street from Fairview Avenue to Irvington Avenue in accordance with

the terms of the contract between the City and Eston Ball, contractor. The -Board signed
and approved same in the a-ount of 52.9I.

The Board hereby orders that resolution No.2243, as shown on pages 288 and 289
of this record be cancelldd and the above resolution adopted this 4th.; day of June,
1929, substituted for same.
The Board approved a claim of T. Tranberg in the amount of 95.78 and hereby
orders the ;City Controller to pay same.

from the Grant Trunk '7estern R. R. to T`ishawa'Lminder a Avenue Improvement Resolution
TTo.2I95, in the ar_^ount of 19,076.36 for concrete pavement heavy traffic. The :Board
also approved the construction bond of same in the amount of `�I0,000..00 which is about
501"'? of the contract trice signed by the Southern surety Company.
Upon the request of ':`falter B. Gross, the Board approved the assignment of the
contract for the pavement of �5th. , titre-t under Improvement Resolution No.2I95, to
the Rdith Riley Construction `'ompaAY- Said Reith Riley Construct; on Company acce-ted
the assignment and agreed to complete the work -embraced in said contract according to
the plans, s -„-ecifications etd. , of said 7-falter 3. Gross.
