Hoard met in regular session at 9 A. V. All members present.
Trinutes of meetings held April 9th., and April IOth.,.I929, read and
.approved.
This being the date set, hearing.was had on the assessment roll for the
condemnation of Sherman Avenue under Condemnation Resolution No.1768.
In the above named assessment roll the Board decides to continue hearing
until Wednesday, April I7th., 1929, at 7-15 P. Yo
The Board signed toe contract with E. T. Tranberg for the sewer and grade
curb and walk improvement on �6orin Street under Improvement Resolution No.22IO in
the amount of I, 700.37. The Board also approved the construction bond of same
for 50 0 of the cont pact price signed by the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New
York.
No petitions having been filed for a change in the type of _ravement
other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of the west
one-half of Ernesrerger Street from Lincoln `flay mast to a .point 45 feet north of
center line of River Avenue projected under Improvement Resolution No.2f76, the
Board this I6th., day of April I929, hereby makes a final order for concrete pavement
light traffic as the type of pavement with which said street shall be improved
and awards the contract for ,e•aid improvement to H. 17. Reed & Sons at their low bid
of 5,2I6.29.
The Board approved the Contractors Bond of $I,000.00 in favor of Wiliam
D,. Whitman.
City Engineer, H.. G. '.dray, filed plans and the Board adopted said plans
together with the following Vacation Resolutions:
Vacation Resolution No.22I3.
Resolved by the Board of Public Jorks of the City of South Benxi, Indiana
That it is' desirable to va#ate the following:.
First alley west of Alain 6treet from the south line of-400dside Street
to the north line of the first alley south of Roodside .Street.
The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected

following permanent easement:

Inc., an Indiana Corporation -with office and prineital place of business in the City
of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, grantor, and Cit,r of' *youth Bend, grantee.
Whereas, the said grantor is seized in fee simple of a parcel of land
situate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, described as follows:

"Begi:gning at the northwest corner of Lot 89 in Oakside Third Addition to the
City of youth Bend, thence south two hundred' (200) feet along the west side of
said lot 89 to the southwest: corner of . said lot, thence west fourteen feet to the
southeast corner of Lot No.90 in said Addition, thence north two hundred (200)
feet along . the east side of said lot No.90 to the northeast corner thereof, thence
east "fourteen (I4) feet to the place of beginning, the same constituting the
alley between said lots 89 and 90 and estending fromoodside Street to the north
line of the first alley south of Woodside Street and parallel --therewith,"
subject to an easement in the City of South Bend to use said above described
real estate as a public alley; and

Now this Indenture Wittnesseth: That for and in consideration of the sum of
One Dollar (I.00) to grantor in hand paid, the receipt and sufficiency of which
is' hereby acknowledged, and in consideration of the vacation of said alley by said
City of South Bend to grantee, and for other good and valuable consideration,
the said grantor hereby grants unto said grantee, its. successors and assigns.,
foreever, the free right of maintaining and entrance to repair, if necessary
and when necessary a public sewer now situated on, under and along said alley.
In Witness Whereof the said grantor -has caused its corporate name to: be affixed
hereto by its President and the corporate seal attached and attested by its
Secretary, the day and year first above written.

In both of the above named vacation resolutions no.22I 2.2.12,' 2I,4 ' he rd
orders that on the 7th.., day of May, I929, this Board will meet in their office
in the City Hall at I0:00 A. M., to hear and. receive remonstrances from all persons
whose property may be affected by such vacations. The Board further orders that
notices of said hearings shall be published on the I.9th. , day *of April and on the
26th., day of April I929 in the South Bend News Times and Tribuh.e according to
law.

was approved by the Board:

from Grant Street to Johnson street, in ac enrdance with the terms of the contract
between the Citr and E. T. Tranberg in the amount of 399.2I.
Claims amounting to 4,595.26 signed and approved by the hoard.
