This -being the date set, -hearing was had on the -preliminary assessment #poll for the Sub -trunk Seiier on`Humboldt Street from Huey Street to Nancy Street under Improvement Resolution N0.2O97. In the above named assessment roll, remonstrators appeared and the following written remonstrances were filed; George F. Goss -and Zora B. Goss, Martin Tlaniewski and Louis Gruazynski, ary - E. Knowblock, Stanley Kolk6iwicz and Joseph Kaley, Anna Kolkeiwicz Flora Schwind, After hearing all persons interested in said assessment roll who desired to be heard, and being fully advised in the matter, the Board over ruled said remon- strances after careful and due deliiaeration finds that the several lots, areas and parcels of land which have been primarily assessed for said improvement have been specially benefited in the amounts respectively named on said assessment roll. The j Board, therefore, takes final action on sadd assessment roll and apTroved a:hd confirms said roll without modification and hereby orders said assessment roll'', as confirmed, delivered to the Department of Finance. This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.. 2I68 for the pavement of Van .Buren Street from Portage Avenue to Lawndale Avenue, ( See files for copy of resolution.) In the above named improvement resolution, remonstrators appeared but no -uritten remonstrance was filed. and the Board, upon the request of property owners decides to continue hearing on said resolution until January I6th. , 1928, at 7-I5 P.711. resolutions: This being the date set, hearings were had on the following improvement Improve�ent Resolution?o.2I67 for the pavement on Smith Street from Huey Street to Olive Street. (See files for copy of resolution.) Improvement Resolution No.2I66 for the pavement on Bartlett Street from Michigan street to Riverside Drive. (See files- for copy, of resolution. In both of the above named improvement resolutions, remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance was filed and after all persons interested in said improvements, the Board finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said 'improvement will be equal to the estimated costs of same as reported by the City Engineer. The Board, therefore, decides to -take final action on said improvement resolutions and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. In both of the above named improvements No.2I67 and No.2I66, the Board hereby orders that on the 8th. day of January, I928, this Board will receive', open and read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements up to IG-00 A. T,% The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on the 26th., day -of December I928 and on the 2nd., day of January 1929, in the,South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law. This being the date set, hearing was had on Vacation Resolution No.2I65 for the vacation of the Ist. , alley east of Dale Avenue from the south line of Dubail to the nort'1 line of Dayton; also the Ist. , alley west of Yiami Street from south line Dubail to south line of Lots 60 and 65 in Oak Park 2nd., Addition, also from north !: line of Lots 6I and 71 in Oa=, park Addition to North line of Dayton Street; Also, Ist. , alley south of Dubail Avenue from east line of Dale to the west line of Ist. , alley east of Dale Avenue. In the above named Vacation Resolution No.2I65, no remonstrators appeared S' /and no written remonstrances were filed and after hearing all persons interested in h said vacation, the. Board decides to tame final action on said resolution and declares �� said alleys x*x vacated, and Vacation Resolution No.2I65, in all things 296 %r ednesday Evening December I9th. , I928. ratified, confirmed and approved. j The Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared of all owners and holders of property and of valuable interests therein affected by such vacation, which list or roll shall describe the ,property beneficially or injuriously affected by such vacation. The Board signed the contract with Barry Barnes for the,con- j struction of .trade, curb and vial's on 35th. , Street from Grand drunk ,Vestern ' . R. to 1' north. line o.f Lots II2C and 94 in Belmont addition under Improvement Resolution No. 2145, in the amount of 3,078.20. The Board also approved the construction bond for I same in the amount of I0W of the contract price signed by the United States Fidelity!; , and. Guaranty Company. The Board approved the renewal certificates of 'Tilliam Bur -ice and Son for excavation bonds in .the amount of-pI,000.00 each. City iginee Ti. G. 71ray, filed the following primary assess- ment rolls: Assessment roll for the pavement on Sunnyside Avenue from south curb line of Langfeilew= nue to the north curb line of Mall street under Improvement Resolution 1,10.2I16. Assessment roll for the pavement, widening, and resurfacing of VTiami Street from Lincoln Way Fast to �1ing Avenue except the portion from alley south of L. W. E. to south line of Pennsylvania Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2060. In both of the above na- ed assessment. rolls, the Board hereby orders that on the I6th. , day of January 1929, this Board will meet in their office in the City Mall at 7-I5 P. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been or mill be benefited in the amounts named on said assessment rolls. G. dray, filed the following primary assess- ment rolls: Assessment roll for the sevier and pavement improvement tin Belle- ville Ist. ,- Unit under Improvement Resolution TTo.2062. j Assessment roll for the pavement improvement of the north, one-half of Ford Street from Lake Street to Iowa Street under Improvement Resolution No.2093. �j Assessment roll for the pavement improvement of the east one half of Labe Street from Division Street to Ford Street under Improvement Resolution No. I In all of the above named assessment rolls, the Board hereby orders that on the 2nd. , day of January I929, this Board will mQ et in the City 7all , at 7-I5 P. RT. , to hear and receite remonstrances from all persons whose property has been assessed for said improvements and will dcide whether the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvements have been or will be benefited in the amounts named said assessment rolls. the Board further orders that notices of said hearings shall be published on the 21st. , day of December and on the 22nd. , day of December 1928 in the South Bend News Times and Pribune according to law. i I The Board signed and approved the claim of the Grand Trunk Western Railway company in the amount of U501,000.00 as m rt payment of the City's Share for grade separation and trac': removal in accordance with agreements dated February IBth., 1924 and t`ay I5th., 1928. The Board hereby orders the City Controlled to ray same out of the tract removal fund. i l The Board approved the claim ofthe Indiana; r'iehigan",ileetrie Company in the amount of= 8.t05.8.8I, which is to apply on the December lighting • account for Street lighting I928.
