Board met in regular session at 7-15 P. 11. John J. Olejniazak absent.
Minutes of meetings held October 30th., October 31st., and November. 6th.,
1928, read and approved. ji
The Board signed the contract with Alex Bukowski for -the construction of
grade, curb and walk on the south dide,of Division Street from Kentucky Street to
-point T38.I feet east, on Ford Street from Kentucky Street to Iowa Street. -on Kentucky
• Street from Division street to Ford Street in the amount of 3,003.37 under Improve-
ment resolution No.2148. The Board also approved the constrnetio# bond of same for
100% of the contract price signed by the United 6tates Fidelity & Guaranty o.
The Board aD= oved the Guamantee!'-'Bond of Hoban and Roach for the. pavement
of the Ist., alley north of LaSalle Avenue from LaPorte Avenue to Cottage Grove Avenue 1
Under Imrrovement Resolution io.2II5, in the amount of 320.56 signed by the 6outhern lII
ety Company.
The Board approved the Gidarantee Bond of the Albert Construction,company for
the Tavement on 22nd., Street from Jefferson Blvd., to the. south line of Pleasant
Street under •Improvement Resolution No.2064, in the amount of 6,280.21 signed by
Inland Bonding Uompany.
The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of C. Reesh for the sewer in
Elwood Avenue from T,..,T,,dora Street to Huey Street under Improvement Resolution No.2084
aighed by United States Guarantee Company in the amount of 322.58.
The Board approved the Guarantee bond of 4illiston Construction Company H
for the -pavement on Greenlawn Avenue from Colfax Avenue to Sunnymede Avenue under

The Board approved the Guarantee Bond of Tdward Di Julio for the sewer in
Huey Street from alley south of Frederickson Street t.o Elwood Avenue under Improvement
Resolution No*2090 signed by Tv"aryland Casualty o., in the amount of 556.78.
The Board approved the renewal certificate of 1hil Spromberg for the excavatioi
bond in the amount of I.000.00 signed by the Aletropolitan Casualty Insurance Co., of
New York.
This being date set, hearing was had. on the assessment -roll for the pave-
ment on Greenlawn Avenue from (;olfax Avenue to Sumnymede Avenue under Improvement
Resolution No.2I34.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that
the several lots and -parcelsof land primarily assessed for said improvement have been
benefited in the amounts named- on said assessment roll. The Board, therefore, tak�,es
final action on said assessment roll and declares same in -all things ratified, confirmei
and approved and the -proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll
delivered to the Department of -Finance.
The Board hereby orders that on the 20th., day of November 1928, sealed
proposals will be received, opened and read up to 10:00 A. M.., for the construction of
the following improvemeAts:
Pavement on Sample Street from west line of Olive Street to west property line
of N. J. I. & I. R. R. under Improvement Resolution No.2T44.
Grade-.,. curb and walk on 35th. ' Street from G.-and Trunk Western Railroad to
-.1 line of Lots INC and 94 in B-61m t Addition

The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on
the 9th., day of November and on the I6th., day of November 1928, in the South Bend
News Times and Tribune according to law.
This being the date set, hearing was had on Vacation Resolution lo.21 3 5 for

In the above named vacation resolution, no remonstr*tors appeared and no

written remonstrance %,ua filed and 'U!.-e Board, being fully advised in the premises,
decides to take final action on said vacation resolution No.2153,. and declares same
In all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification.
The Board now orders that a list or roll be prepared of all owners and holders
of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be affected be

In both of the above named . improvement resolutions,property owners
waived all objections on, and in defense to any defeat in said proceedings and to any
violation in procedure for the construction of street improvements as provided by law.
Whereupon, the Board received, opened and read sealed proposals for the construction
of, said improvements as follows:

pavement of Angella Avenue from east line of Harter Heights Addition to Zeeper Avenue
under Improvement Resolution No.2127.
In the above na•ned assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that
on the I4th., day of November I928, this Board will meet in their office at 7-I5 P.M.
to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has-been assessed
for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels of land
have been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said roll or in a greater or
less sum than that named on said roll. The Board further orders that notices of said
hearing shall be published on the 9th. day of November and on the IOth. , day of
November I928, in the South Bend News times and Tribune according to law.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed primary assessment roll for
the sewer and pavement im-provement in Summit Place 5th., Addition under Improvement
Resolution No.2078.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that
on the 21st., day of November I928, this Board will meet in their office in the
City Hall at 7-15 P. TY!, , to hear and receive remonstrances from all x)ersons whose
property has been assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the several
lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been or will be
benefited in the amounts named on said primary, roll .or in a greater or less sum than
that named on said primary roll. The Board further orders that notice of said hearing

Partial estimate No.I for the ?pale, curb and walk improvement on
36th., Street from Jefferson 6treet to Ylarshall Street in accordance with the terms
of the contract between t e City and H. N. Barnes, contractor, under improvement
Resolution No.2II4. The Board signed and approved same in the amount of I,410.85.
Partial estimate No2 for the pipe sewer improvement in Brookfield
Street from Prairie Avenue to Indiana Avenue, in accordance with the terms of the
contract between the City and the Northern Indiana Construction Company under Improve-
ment Resolution No.2120. The Board signed and approved same in the amount of
432.85.
Partial estimate No.2 for the pipe sewer improvement in Liberty street
from Division Street to Sample Street in accordance with the terms of the contract
between the City and the Nor#here Indiana Construction Company under Improvement
Resolution No.2I22. The Board signed and approved same in the amount of 995,35.
Partial estimate No.I for the sewer and pavement improvement in Belle-
ville First Unit Addition in ac ordance with the terms of the contract between the
City and Williston Construction ombany under Im-rovement Resolution No.2062. The
Board signe and approved same in the amount of 62,489.54.
Upon the recommendation of 'tdm..F. Qualls, the Board approved the
peition of the Indiana and Michigan Electric "ompany to repair pavement around
their manholes on YOest Division 'jtreet between Michigan and Chapin streets. said
repairs to be paid by Indiana and Michigan -`ykeetric Company.
Upon the recemmendation of Wm. F. Qualls; the Board approved the
petition of the Indiana and Ylichigan Electric Company to install an underground
transformer vault between the curb line and the building line on the southwest corner
of tgashington and Michigan Streets as outlined in their petition of November 2nd. , I928.
Upon the recommendation of 'Sm. F. Qualls and H. G.__llray, the Board
approved the installation of 2-6000 lumen lights at Division and ��alnut Street cross
ing of the New York Central Railroad, at a cost to the City of 100.00, a year.

The Board approved the plat of Hartman Place with the following
DEDICATION.
The attached plat is to be known as Hartman Place. It is located in
the Southwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 37 North, Range 2 Fast, and is described
as follows:
Beginning at a point II7i..2_ feet west of the southeast corner of

the southwest quarter of ction 25, Township 37 North, Range 2 East;
thence. north 689.95 feet to the north line of Hartman Avenue as shown
on the plan; thence west with the north line of Hartman Avenue as
shown on the plan to the east line of Michigan Street; thence sotLth-
westerly with the east line of Michigan street to the south line of
said southwest Quarter; thence East to the place of beginning.
The plat contains fifty-two .(52) lots numbered from I to 52 inclusive.

The streets and alleys are hereby dedicated to the public for public
