Avenue as herein provided in (a) , (b)and (0 -of paragraph I, hereof, for and during
the period of this contract. busing such period, the Contractor shall maintain and
Iteep said cable, conduits, bases and other apparatus and equipment in a reasonable
state of repair, provided, however, that any renewals or replacement of all or any part
of said cables, conduits, bases, apparatus or equipment which may be installed and pait
for by the Contractor shall be and remain the property of the Contractor.
The Contractor herobj* agrees to. execute the contract in the form
heretofore adapted by the said Board of Public Works within ten (10) days from the
date of Vie awarding of the contract to it.
Bidders affidavit of -non -collusion is hereto attached, dated at
Bouth Bend, Indiana, the 30th., day of October 1928

The Board, on the reeommeddation of City Engineer, 11. G. Wray approv:
ed and signed Estimate No.2 for labor and material furnished by the Williston 6onst.,
Company to November Ist. , I928, in connection with the raising of ax)proach grades on
Cherry Street, Hancock, Arnold, Walnut, Division, Harris and Ford streets, all in
accordance with Resolutions numbered 2107 and 2131 and contracts dated July 24th.,
and September 5th. , 1928, New York Central Track Elevation South Bend, Indiana,
in the Amount of $22,I60.00, and the Board, hereby orders �ity Controller to pay samme
out of Track Elevation fund.
The Board apir oved the claim for the vacation of the alley east
of Michigan Street from Bronson Street to New York Central R. R. under Vacation
Resolution No.2085 in the amount of $7,487.50 and hereby orders City Controller to
pay same out of Track Elevation fund.

Bids having been received for bhe 1R vement on Greenlawn Avenue from south
line of YcKinley AveiVe to north line of Washington Avenge under Improvement Resolu-
tion No.214I, the Board this 31st., day of October I928, hereby makes a preliminary
erder for sheet asphalt heavy traffic pavement as the type of pavement with which
said street shall be improved and sets the I3th., day of November 1928 as the time
when said Board shall either pass of petitions for a change in the type of pavement
other than,that specified in the preliminary orders, award the contract or reject
all bids.
Bids having been received for the grade, curb and walk improvement
on Division, Ford Street and Kentucky Street under improvement Resolution No.2I48,
the board this 3Ist., day of October 1928, hereby awards the contract for said
improvement to Alex Bukowski at his low bid of 3,003.37.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimates and
the Board adopted said plans and specifications together with the following improve-
ment resolutions:
Improvement Resplution No.2I54 for the local sewer improvement in Bendix
Drive from Washington Avenue to Ist., alley north of Division Street; also. in
Jefferson Street from Bendix Drive to Liberty Street. (See files for copy of resolu
Lion.)
Improvement Resolution No.2I55 for the local sewer improvement in Elmwood
Drive from Southwood Avenue to the center line of Lot 820 in Senn lde 4th.,
Addition produced South; (See files for copy of resolution.)
In both of the above named improvement resolutions, the Board hereby orders
that on the 20th., day of November 1928 this Board meet in their office in the City i
Hall at I0:00 A. 1%. to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose
property is liable to be assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the
several lots and parcels of land will be benefited in proportion to the estimated cosh'
of same as reported by the City Engineer. The Boaald further orders that notices of
said hearings shall be published on the 2nd., day of November and on the 9th.', day
of November 1928, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law.
The Board approved an Excavation bond for George Strauss in the amount of.
I,000.00 signed by the Fidelity and Deposit Company of l"aryland.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following assessment rolls;
Assessment roll for the grade, curb and walk improvement on 36th., street
from Jefferson Blvd., to Marshall Street under Improvement Resolution No.21I4.
Assessment roll for the pavement of the Ist., alley north of LaSalle Avenue
from Lafayette Street to First alley west under Improvement Resolution No.2I04.
Assessment roll for the pavement of the Ist., alley north -of LaSalle Avenue
from LaPorte Avenue to Cottage Grove Avenue under Improvement Resolution N.02II5.
Assessment roll for the pavement of alley between Lot. I miller addition
and Lot 8 Fuerj�ringer Addition from OaTc Street to Ist., alley sotu of Oak Street
under Improvement Resolution No.2I47.
In all of the above named assessment rollp, no-emonstra.tors appeared and
no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises
finds that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improve-
ments have been benefited in the amounts named on said primary rolls. The Board,
therefore, takces final action on said assessments and declares same in all things
ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed.
The Board now orders said assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance.

on Greenlatwn Avenue f :rom Colfax Avenue to Sunnymede Avenue under Improvement
Resolution No.2I34.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on the
7th. day of November 1928, this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall
at7-f5 P. fir., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property
has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and.
parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said primary
assessment roll or in a greater or less sum than that named on said roll. The
Board further orders that notices of said hearing shall be published on the 2nd.,
day of November and on the 3rd., day of November 1928 in the South Bend News Times
and Tribune according to law.

In the above named assessment roll, the Board, hereby orders
that on the I4th.91 day of November 1928, this Boa d will meet in their.. office in
the City Hall at 7-T5 P. V., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons
whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the

under Improvement Resolution No.2090.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board, hereby, orders
that on the I4th., daTi of November 1928, this Board will meet in their office -in
the City Hall at 7-I5.P. K., to hear and ree'eive remonstrances from all persons
whose"property has been assessed for said improvement- and will decide whether the
several lots and -na.rcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts
named on said primary roll. The Board further orders that notices of sadd hearing
