Ole jniczak absent, Minutes of meetings held October 23rd. , and October 24th., 1928, read and approved. The Board signed the contract with 'Edward DiJ'ulio for the. construction. of the sev,;,?r in Fremont Street between Lincoln Way hest and Humboldt Street under . improvement Resolution No.2139 in the amount of I,161.60. The Board also approved the construction bond of same in the amount of 100� of the contract price signed by NLaryland Casualty Company.` The Board signed the contract with Edward Di Julio for the construction of the sewer in Elmer Street from a point 275 feet soudh of the center line of 'Vassar Avenue to point 205.5 feet south of the center line of Elwood. Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2I37 in the amount of 3,372.90. The Board also approved the construct- ion bond of same in the amount of I00% of the contract price signed by the Maryland Casualty Company. The Board, upon the recommendation of Wm. F. 0sialls, approved the following lig'_ot installations: - I-I000 lumen light at the southwest corner of Arnold and Huron ''treet to lip-ht steps at railroad elevation. I-I000 lumen light at northwest corner of Walnut and '�Iivision Streets to light steo in sidewalk at railroad elevation. The Board appr ove'd the petition of the Indiana Bell Telephone ompany to cut pavement in the alley east of vVilliam Street, south of Washington for certain under- ground conduit construction. The Board approved the petition of the Indiana Bell Telephone company to place underground conduit in Sample Street, east of Franklin Street, for the Engineers Building of the "tudebaker Corporation. This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll for the walk and curb improvement on the northerly side of Mishawaka Avenye from west line of Lot 500 'Ihiteomb and Kellers 3rd. , Sunnymede Addition to Longfellow Avenue under Improve ment resolution No.2053. In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed amd the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds that the several lots and a -parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll. he Board, therefore , decides to take final action on same and declares said assessment roll, filed on .October 23rd., I928, in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the Th Troceedings closed. e Board now orders said assessment roll delivered to the -Department of Finance. City Ihgineer, H. G. Wray, filed assessment roll for the pavement of Angella Avenue from the east line of Harter Heights Addition to Notre Dame Avenue under Improvement resolution No.2I26. In the aove named assessment roll, property owners having waived all right of objection on or in defense to said proceedings, and the Board being fully advised in the premises, finds the several lots and parcels of land have been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll. The Board, therefore, takes final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance. This being the date set, bids were received, opened and read for the grade, curb and walk improvement on the south side of Division Itreet from Kentucky street to a point I38.I feet East; on Ford Street from Kentucky Street to Iowa Street under Improvement Resolution No. 2I48. (a). The City shall rrovide and the Contractor shall maintain and operate, subject !to the conditions hereinafter set forth, the cables, conduits, and other subsurface equipment and apparatus and the Contractor shall provide, maintain and operate standards, lamps, refractors and all other equipment and apparatus, all constituting a street lighting system on Chapin Street from Washingto Arenue to TMonroe Street in :;the City of South Bend, Indiana, consisting of 36 street lamps supplied through said lunderground system from the electrical 'circuits of the Contractos, such lamps shall be as follows: 136 - 13 R±xxrfoot Riverside Standards complete with Egyptian Senior Lighting Units ,land 1.`ongul multiple sockets and each equipped with I-5000 lumen lighting lamp. The ,;burning hours of said lamps shall be as follows: Twenty four (24) h,.said lamps shall be 'turned from one half hour after sunset until one half hour after sunrise, every night and all night, burning approx- imately four thousand (4000) hours per annum. Twelve (I2) of said lamps shall be burned from one half hour after sunset each and every night until midnight only. 43.00 per unit per annum.. . (b) The City shall provide and the Contractor shall maintain and operate, subject to the conditiions hereinafter set firth, the cables, conduits and other subsurface :.,equipment and apparatus and the contractor shall provide, maintain and operate ;standards, lamps, trfractors.and all other equipment and a ratus, all constituting ,a street lighting system on Viami Street from Lincoln 4ay Oast to Ewing Avenue in ,the City of South Bend, Indiana, consisting of forty-one (41) street lamps.supplied through said underground system from the electrical circuits of the Contractor, such ,lamps shall be as follows: 28- 12 foot Sheridan Hollow spun, concrete lighting standards complete with ;Octagonal Junior Lighting Tops with Spikes and medium Vogul sockets, each equipped with I-I00061 lumen street lighting lamp. $32.50 per unit per annum. I3-12 foot Sheridan hollow spun, concrete lighting standards complete with .Octagonal Junior Lighting tops with Spikes and Medium Vogul sockets, each equipped with 1-2500 lumen street lighting lamp. 37.50 per unit per annum. Said forty one lamps on Y jami Street herein provided for shall be burned ,from one half hour after sunset until one hald hour before sunrise, every and all `'night, burning approximately four thousand (4000) hours per annum. '(a) The City shall provide and the Contractor shall maintain and operate, subject .to, conditions hereinafter set forth, the cables, conduits and other subsurface equipment and apparatus, and the Contractor shall provide, maintain and operate :standards, lamps, refractors and all other equipment and apparatus, all coristituing a street lighting system on Angella Avenue from Leeper Avenue to Notre Dame Avenue, yin the City of South Bend, Indiana, consisting of twenty nine street lamps supplied !through said underground system from the electrical circuits of the contractor, ;such lamps shall be as follows: 29-10 foot Sheridan, Hollow spun, concrete lighting standards with Octagonal Junior tops, each equipped with 1-I000 lumen lamp. 32.50 per unit per annum. Said twenty nine lamps on Angella Avenue herein provided for shall be burned from one half hour after sunset until one half hour before sunrise,.every night and all night, burning approximately four thousand (4000) hours per annum. 1'(d) The Contractor shall provide, maintain andoperatea street lighting system on ,,College Street from Elwood Avenue to Keller Street in the City of South Bend, Indiana, consisting of seven (7) street lamps supplied from an underground distribution system of the contractor, such underground lamps shall be as foil ozras: 7- Park View Poles with Octagonal Junior Lighting Tops, each equipped with 1-I000 lumen Lamp, said seven (7') underground lamps herein provided for shall be burned from one half hour after sunset until one half hour before sunrise every night and all night, burning approximately four thousand (4000) hours per annum. 130.00 per unit per annum. Wray, approv ed and signed Estimate No.2 for labor and material furnished by the Williston Const.,' Company to November Ist., I928, in connection with the raisin of approach grades on Cherry Street, Hancock, Arnold, Walnut, Division, Harris and ord Streets, all in accordance with Resolutions numbered 2I07 and 2131 and contracts dated July 24th., and Se tember 5th. , I928, New York Central Track Elevation 6outh Bend, Indiana, in the Amount of $22,I60.00, and the Board, hereby orders 6ity Controller to pay samme out of Track Elevation fund. The Board ap1r oved the claim for the vacation of the alley east of Michigan Street from Bronson Street to New York Central R.
