Board met in regular session at 7�I5 P. If. John J. Ole jni czak absent.
This being the date set, hearing was had on Improvement Resolution No.2I30
for the grading" of" --the alley west of Miami Street from Fairview Avenue to the center
line of the Ist. , alley south of Fairview and a retaining wall to support building.
In the above named improvement Resolution No2134, no remonstrators appeared
but no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the
premises, finds that the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable .to
be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as
r6ported by the City Engineer. The Board, theefore, takes final action on said
Improvement Resolution and declares same in all things ratified, confirmed and
approved without modification.
The Board. now orders, that on the 2nd., clay of October I928, sealed proposals
will be received, opened and read for the constunction of said improvement under
improvement resolution No.2130, up to I0:00 A. Me The Board further orders that
notices of said proposals shall be published in the South Bend News Times and Tribune
on 2lst. , day of September and on the 28th. , day of September 1928, according to law.
This being the date set, hearings were had on the following primary assessment
rolls:
Assessment roll for the pavement of the alley west of plain Street from Navarre
Street to Bartlett Street under Improvement Resolution No.2071..
1` Assessment roll f6r the pavement on Eckman Street from east line of Studebaker
Place 3rd. , Addition to Viami Street under Improvement Resolution No.2405.
In both of the above named assessment rollq,no remonstrators appeared and no
written remonstrances were filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises
rinds that the several lots. and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improve-
ments have been benefited in the amounts shown on said rolls. The Board, therefore,
takes final action on said assessment rolls and declares same in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed. The Board
now orders said assessment rolls delivered to the Department of Finance.

Bids having been received f or the grading on Usher Avenue from Pichigan Street
to east line of alley eatt of Michigan Street under Improvement Resolution No.20751F
the Board this I9th. , day of September I928, hereby awards the contract for said
improvement to Whitcomb and Keller at their low bid of $563.18.
Bids having been received for the grade, curb and walk on Parallel Street from
Grant Street to Johnson Street under Improvement Resolution No.22I2, the Board this
I9th. , day of September 1928, hereby awards the contract for said improvement to
E, T. Tranberg at his low bid of 443.66.
Bids having been receftk for the grade, curb and walk on vichigan Street from
Donmoyer Avenue to Jennings and on the went side only from Jennings Avenue to Dean
Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2I29, the Board this I9th., day of September
1928, hereby awards the contract for said improvement to 111. N. Barnes at his low
bid of I,25I.40.
City Fogineer, H. G. Wray, filed the following ;primary assessment rolls:

In both of the above named assessment rolls, the Board hereby orders, that
on the 26th. , day of. September I928, this Board will meet in their office in the City
Hall at 7-I5 P. RT., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property
has been assessed for said improvementsaand will decide whither the several lots and
parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvements.have been>or will benefited
in the mounts shown on said assessment roll or in a Brea ter or 'less sum than that
shown on said rolls. The Board further orders that notices of said hearings,. shall be
published in the South Bend News Times and Tribune on the 21st. , day of September and
on the22nd., day of September 1928, according to law.

for the Vacation of. -the Ist. , .alley south of Colfax Avenue from Esther Street te`
Green.lawn Avenue.
In the above named vacation resolution No.2I32, no remonstrators appeared
.,and no written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being folly, advised in the
premises, decides to take final action on said vacation resolution and declares
same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
r The Board now orders that a_ list or roll be prepared of all own *ers and
holders of property and of valuable interests therein sought to be taken or to be
injuriously affected by such vacation, which list or roll shall also describe the
;!property beneficially affected by said vacation.

In both of the above named assessment rolls, the Board hereby
orders that on the 26th., day of September 1928., this Board will meet in their offic
in the City Hall at 7-I5 P. M., to hear and receive remonstrances -from all persons
whose property has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the
several lots and parcels of land have been or . will be benefited in the amounts shown
on said pril.mary rolls._ The Board further orders that notices of said hearings shall
be published in the South Bend News Times and Tribune on the 2lst., day of September
and on the 22nd. , day of September 1928, according to law.
The Board signed the contract with Harry N. Barnes for the con-
st-nuction of grade, curb and walk on Lake :Street from Jefferson Blvd., to Mashington
Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.2III in the amount of 1.156.2.09 The Board also
approved the construction bond of same in the amount of T00% of the contract price
signed by United States Fidelity and Guaranty Co.

Partial estimate No.I for the heavy traffic sheet asphalt pavement i
on Altgeld Street from the west line of Marine Street to the east line of Miami
Heights Addition in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and
the Rieth Riley 6onstruction Company, contractors, under Improvement Resolution
Now--2087. The Board signed and approved same in the amount of 9,680.52.
Partial estimate No.I for the heavy traffic sheet asphalt pavement
on Madison, Street from. Palmer Blvd. , to Harriett Street, in accordance with the
terms of the contract between the City and Rieth Riley construction .Company, contractors,
under Improvement Resolution No.2083. The Board signed and approved same in the
amount of 6, 973.23.
Partial estimate No.2 for the heavy traffic sheet asphalt pavement
Improvement on Miami Street between Lincoln Way East and Ewing Avenue, also widening
and resurfacing, in accordance with the terms of the contract between the City and _
the Rieth Riley Construction company, contractors. The Board signed and approved
same in the amount of 220411.17.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans and the Board adopted said
plans together with a resolution for the vacation of the alley north of Washington
Avenue from3unnyside Avenue to Esther Street under vacation Resolution No.2I38.
In the above named vacation resolution, the Board hereby orders
that on the 9th. , day of October 1928, this Board will meet in their office in the
City Hall at I0 : 00 A. Y. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose
property is liable to be affected by said vacation. The Board farther orders that
notices of said hearing shall be published on the 2lst. , day of September and on the
28th. , day of September 1928, according to law.

and the Board adopted said plans and spedif ications together with the following
improvement resolution:

orders that on the 9th., day of October 1928, this Board will meet in their office
in the City Hall at I0:00 A. M., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons

the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvement will
be benefited in proportion to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City
