Board met in regular session at 9 A. Y. John J. Olejniczak absent.
Minutes of meetings -held September Ilth.., and September I2th., 1928,
read and approved.
No petitions having been filed for a change in the type of pavement
Other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of -Suarinyside Avenue
from the south curb line of Longfellow Avenue to the north curb line of Mall Street
under Improvement Aesoluti on No, 2116, the . Board this I8th. , clay of September 1928,
hereby, makes a final order for sheet asphalt heavy traffic as the type of pavement
with which said -.street shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement
I to Reith Riley Construction Company at their low bid of 2,890.25.
City Engineer, TT. G. Wray, filed primary assessment roll for the local
sewer system in Lincoln kamor Addition under Improvement Resolution No.I982..
In the above named assessment,roll, the Beard hereby orders that on
the End., day of October I9289 this Board will meet in their office in the City Hall
at I0 :00 A. M. , to hear and receive remoras trane es from all persons whose property has
been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether theseveral lots and parcels
of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll or
in a greater or less sure than that named on said roll. The Board further orders that
notice of said hearing shall be published in the South Bend News Times and Tribune on
the 20th. , day of September I928, according to law.
Cit.s Engineer, H.G. Wray, filed prifhary assessment roll for the pave-
ment on East -Jefferson Blvd., from areenlawn Avenue to 26th. , Street, under Improvement
Resolution N,.2045.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that
e ySeptember is on the 25th. day of I928 this Board will meet in their office in the City
I Hall at I0:00 A. M., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property
has been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and
! parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement have been or will be benefited
In the amounts named on said roil or in a g� eater or less sum than that named on said
'roll.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment roll for
the grade, curb and walk improvement on Dale Avenue from south line of Ewing Avenue
to the north line of Eckman Street under Improvement Resolution No.2006..
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no
written remonstrances were filed and the Board being fully advised in the premises,
finds that the several lots and parcels of -land primarily assessed for said improvement
have been benefited in the amounts named on said roll. The Board, therefore, takes
final action on said primary roll and declares same in all things ratified, :vonfirwed
and approved without modification, and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders
said assessment roll delivered to the Department of Finance.

The Board signed the contract with Frame and Zimmer for the grade,
curb and wale improvement on Sherrill Street from Chapin Street to Kendall Street under
Xmprovemient Resolution No.2II31 in the wr.ount of 978.75. The Board also approved the
construction bond of same for 50% of the contract price, signed by Southern Surety
Company.
The Board signed the contract with Reith Riley Construction Company
for sewer and pavement on Miami, High, Keasey, etc., under Improvement Resolution
No.2I25 for Tradk Elevation, in the amount of I81*582.35. The Board also approved the
construction .bond of - same for 50% of the contract price signed by Southern Surety Co.
The Board approved the following Guarantee Bonds:
Guarantee Bond of C. E. Reesh for the sewer in Hildreth Street under
im rovement resolution No.2089 in the amount of 42.50 signed by United Stated Guaranty
GO.
Guarantee bond of Reith Riley Construction Company for ..the pavement
on Clyde Street from Indiana Avenue to Dubail Avenue under Improvement Resolution No.
1993 in the amount of 265.09 signed by Southern 'Surety Co.
Guarantee bond of Reith Riley Construction Company for the pavement o

No.I998 in the amount of I,467.82 signed by Southern Surety Co.

11he Board signed the contract with Harry N. Bites for the grade, curb and
walk on 36th., Street from Jefferson Blvd., to Marshall street u#der Improvement
Resolution No.2II4 in the amount of 1,334.40. The Board also approved the construction
bond Of same for I00% of the contract price signed by United States Fidelity & Guaranty
Company.
Upon the recommendation of W. F. Qualls, the Board approved the installation
of a - 2500 lumen light at the corner of Clyde and Duba it Avenue at a cost of 35.00 per
year.
Upon the recommendation of Wm. F. "walls, the Board approved the installation
of a 2500 lumen light at Harriett Street and Hildreth Stree at a cost of 35.00 per
year.
Upon the recommendation of Wm. F. Qualls, the Board ap1roved the installation
of a 2500 lumen light on 28th., Street at the alley between Hastings Street and Grand
Trunk Railroad at a cost of 35.00 per year.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimate and the
Board adopted said specifications and plans together with the following improvement
resolution:
Improvement Resolution No.2I37 for the sewer in Elmer Street from a point
275 feet south of the center line of Vassar Avenue to a point 205.5 ,feet south of
the center line of Elwood Avenue. (See files for copy of resolution.)
In the above named improvement resolution, the Board hereby orders that on
the 9th. , _ day of October, I928, the Board will meet in their office in the City Hall
at I0:00 A. If., to hear and receive remonstrances from 41 persons whose property is
liable to be assessed for said improvement and will decide. whether the benefits:'.t6sthe-1
and oareels of land liable to be assessed for said improvement will be equal to the
estomated cost of same as reported by the City Engineer. The Board further orders that
notices of said hearing shall be published in the South Bend News Times and Tribune on
the 2Ist. , day of September and on the 28th. , day of September 1928, according to law.
This being the date set, bids were received, opened and read for the grade,
curb and walk improvement on Vichigan Street from Donmoyer Avenue to Jennings Avenue
