Board met. in special session at 9 A. 141. Ali' members present. 'Mr. 1.. S.
Romig, -City attorney, and. Mr. Charles W. Cole and 'illiam S. Voore, �igirieers, also �
present.
This- being the ate set for hearing on ,the modified assessment roll of
the Northwest Trunk Sewer �ystem under Improvement Resolution:'Mutbers T7 74, 174A
and 1774B, and all remonstranees filed against the same, the Board met in the Council
Chamber of the City Mall of South Bend, Indiana, and opened hearing on said Roll and
the remonstrances. The Engineer reported that be bad not been able to mare the
corrections, deductions and compution and complete the modified Roll as ordered by the
Board at, its meeting of August 9th. , I928. The Board then adjourned the „ hearing to
Thursday, August 23rd. , at 9 A. T., 1928,,at the Council Chapber in the City Hall.

center line of main track of New York Central Railroad (Illinois Division) to two

The above named streets within the limits prescribed above shall be paved,
and also the roadway of certain portions of the streets and alleys which enter or
1 intersect said streets shall be paved. The paving material to be used'in making said
• ; Improvement shall be Bituminous Madadam, Sheet asphalt on gravel foundation of Sheet

In the above named improvement Resolution No.2131, the Board helingj
fully advised in the matter, -takes final action on said Resolution No.2231, . and
declares same in .all things ratified, confirmed and approved. This action taken
In -compliance with Track Elevation get, approved March Ist., 19231 as shown in Burns
Revised Statutes of the State of Indiana, 1926, Section-I054I. he Board, hereby,
orders that on the 4th., day of September I928, this Board will receive, open and
read sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements up to I0:00 A. 11.
The Board further orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on the
24th.- day of August and on the 3lst., day of August 1928, in the South Bend News
Times and Tribune according to law.
Upon the recommendation of Wm. F. Qualls, the Board approved the
installation of a 4000 lumen light at the corner of Westmoor Street and Meade Street
at a cost of 45.00 per year.
By mutual agreement between the Williston Construction Company,
contractors, and the Board of Public "orks, the Board modifies the contract for the
paving of the street approaches at Division and Walnut, South Walnut, Arnold, Harris,
Ford and Cherry Streets under Improvement Resolution No.2107, to eliminate the pave-
ment 9nly of said street approaches, all other items of said contract to be in full
i
force and effect.
Uron motion dul made and seconded, it was unamimously decided
by the Board to pay the Williston �onstruetion Company 800.00 for replacing pavement
at Huey Street and Lincoln 'Nay `hest, where the Northwest Sewer crossed Lincoln Way,.
i�r. C. J. Allardt, Street Commissioner, was called in and agreed to pay it out of
the P;a.soline tax fund. The Chermical inspection bill of 18.72 of the Van Trump
Chemical Laboratory is also to be paid out of this fund.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimate
and the Board adopted said plans and s pe cifi cati ons together with the following
Improvement Resolution:
Improvement Resolution No.2130 for the grading of the alley west
of Miami Street from Fairview Avenue to the center line of the first alley south of
Fairview. (See files for copy of Resolution.)
In the above named improvement Resolution No•2I30, the Board,
hereby orders that on the I9th. , day of �eptember 1928, this Board will meet in their'
office in the City Hall at 7-I5 P. V., to hear and receive remonstrances from all
persons whose porperty may be assessed for said improvement and will decide whether
the :=zsoil benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed,
for said improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of same as reported by the
City Angineer. The Board further orders that notices of said hearing shall be
published in the South Bend News Times and Tribune on the 3Ist., day of August,
and on the 7th. , day of September I928, according to law.
City Engineer, H. G. dray, filed plans and the Board adopted
said plans together with a Resolution for the Vacation of the first alley south of
Colfax Avenue from Esther Street to Greenlawn Avenue under Vacation Resolution No.

In the above named Vacation Resolution, the Board hereby orders
that on the I9th. , day of September I928, this Board will meet in their office in
the City Hall to hear and receive rera^nstrances from all persons whose property
ray the affected by said. ?Tacation. The Board further orders that notices of said
hearing shall be published on the 31st. , day of August andon the 7th. , day of
September 1928, in the South Bend News Times and Tribune according to law.
