�I Board met in regular session at 7-I5 •P. % All members present.
The Boar signed the contret with Reith Riley Congtrucu 2np comany for
the pavement -on Napier ��treet from Walnut Street to -past line of berry treet under
Improvement Resolution No.20442 in the amount of 7,232.72. The Board also approved
i; the construetio bond of same forr5O% of the contract price, signed by aouthern Surety.
Company.
i' This being the date set, hearing_ was had on the assessment roll for the
pavement of the Ist., alley south of Riverside Drive from Forest Avenue to Park Avenue
I under Improvement Resolution No.I967.
i(i In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no
I written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises,
decides to continue hearing on said assessment roll until August 8th. , 1928.
This being the date set, hearing was had o the assessment roll for the
pavement of the alley west of Park Avenue from Riverside rive to Ist. , alley south
under Improvement Resolution No.I968.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no
written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being ftlly advised in the premises,
decides to continue hearing on said assessment roll until August 8th. , 1928.
This being the date set, hearing .was had on the assessment roll for the
pavement improvement of streets in Morris Park `addition under Improvement Resolution No,!!
I98I.
In the above named assessment roll, remonstrators appeared but no written
remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, dbn1des to
continue the hearing on said roll until 4dnesday August 8th., I928.
- This being the date set, hoaring was had on the assessment roll for the
pavement of Bertrand Street from Johnson street to Bendix Drive under Improvement Resol
uti on No . I9 55 .
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no
written remonstrance was filed and the Board, being fully advised in the premises, finds"
that the several lots and parcels of land primarily assessed for said im-rovement have
been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll. The Board, therefore,
takes final action on said assessment roll and declares same in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment`
roll delivered to the Department of Finance.
City Engineer, T3. G. Yray, filed tabulation of bids for the pavement
on T.iarriett Street under Improvement Resolution No.2II*. Tabulation is as follows:

Bids '_zaving been received for the pavement of Harriett Street under
Improvement Resolution No.2II9, the Board this Ist., day of Augdtst,I928, hereby makes
a final order for sheet asphalt heavy traffic pavement as- the tare of pavement with
which said street shall be improved and awards the contract for same to Reith Riley
Construction Co., at their low bid of I5,507.70.
City Engineer, H.- G..Ifiray, filed plans, specifications and estimate and
the Board adopted said plans and specifications together with Improvement Kesolution
No.2I29, for the grade, cuibb and walk improvement on TTichigan Street from. Donmoyer
Avenue to Jennings Street and. the west side only fr-m Jennings Avenue to Dean -"Irrenue.
In the above na-ned improvement resolution, the Board hereby orders that
on the 28th. , day of August, I928, this Board will meet in theor office in the ity
H�,11 at I0:00 A. T'., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property
is liable to be assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the benefits to
the seve- al lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said improvement will be
euual to the estimated cost of same as reported by the City Engineer. She Board furtherl'
orders that notices of said hearing shall be published in the aout h Bend Thews Times
and Tribune on the IOth. , day of August and on the I7th. , day of August, 1928, and
that notices be mailed to property owners according to law.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed primary assessment roll for the pavement
on Chapin Street from the south curb line of Washington atreet to the south line of
Yonro a Street running west from Chapin Street under Improvement Resolution Tdo. 20I I.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that on
the 8th. , day of August, 1928,_this Board will meet in their office in the Cit.-T Hall
at7-I8 P. IT., to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has b
assessment tot said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels
land have been or will be benefited in the amounts- named on said primary roll. The

The above named streets and alleys within the limits prescribed
above shall be graded from property line to property line, and the roadway thereof
shall be graded or paved, and also the roadway of certain portions of the btreets and a1:

paved. All intersecting alleys, not shown as paved on the plans, for this improvement,
shall be graded to conform to the grade of the street so intersected! The paving mate' ,'

brick or portland cement concrete pavement. The foundation shall be portland matt
concrete six (6") inches thick for the sheet asphalt, asphh,ltic concrete and brick.

alleys. where same is necessary, manholes, storm Vrater inlets and conduits shall be
constructed where necessary. Also water and sevier connections shall be constructed from
the diefference mains to a point six (6") inches inside the curb lines, where necessary.;,

The cost of the improvement herein-rovided for, shall be apportion'
ed in accordance with Track elevation Act, approved Yarch I, I923, as shown in Burns
Revised Statutes of the State of Indiana, I926, Section 10541.

Steetl Range Mfg. Co, tl permanently oecupy.a,.pQrtiQn of Cherry 6treet for the
purpose of remodeling its present building:

I have investigated the above situation today, and. would recommend
that fir. Il�oore's request be granted. It i s my thought, 4nge

saiti:sfactory for the Board to §rant the Malleable teel Mfg. ompany permission
to occupy a portion of Cherry treetpermanently with column supports,rather than to
vacate a portion of said street. Subject to the City Attorneys approval, I vmi nld
suggest the following order to be made a matter of record in the above proceeding:
The I'alleable Steel Range Mfg. Co., is hereby granted permis-si on to
occupy, during the life of its present building, a four foot (41) strip off the west
side of Cherry Street for a length equal to the length of the l�l�alleable steel Range Mfg.
to.'s present building. The occupation of said street during the . period of construction
and afterward shall be at the sole rick of the Malleable Steel Range 14,Lanu.facturing ompa;
,any column supports or other obstructions constructed within said four foot (41 } strip
shall be so constructed as to protect and safeguard that portion of Cherry 6treet for
public use.
