ed.
The Board signed the following contracts and approved the construction
bonds for same
contract with Ri eth Riley Const. , Co., for the .pavement of Woodside
Street from 11iichigan Street to Fel lows Street under Improvement Alesoluti on No. 2000,
In the amount of 14,368.36. The Board also approved the construction bond of sane for
50% of the contract Trice signed by the Southern Surety Co.
Contract with Rieth Riley Gonst. , Co. , for the -Mvemeat of Vakman. St.,
from east line of Studebaker Place 3rd., .Addition to Miami Street under Improvement
.Resolution No, 2005 in the . amount of 14, 66,6.27. The Board also anproved the construction
bond for same for 50% of the contract price signed by the Southern Surety Co.
Contract with E. 7. Tranb erg for the pavement of the alley vest of
Sherman Avenue from Oal @treet to Lincoln Way West under Improvement Resolution No.20S5
'in the amount of 2,490.60. The Board also approved the constructi -. bon of same for
50%� of the contract price signed by United States Fidelity and Cxuaranty o.
Contract with Rocco Simeri for -the local sewer in FTerry Avenue from
Grant Street .to Meade treet under' Improvement Resolution No.2023, in the amount of 3,862.
the Board also approved the construction bond of same for I00% of the contract price
signed by the: 01lumbia Casualty "Company.
Contract with E. T.7ranberg for the pavement of the Ist., alley south
of Bider Street -from east line of 2nd. , alley west of Oarroll Street to 2nd. , alley
east of Yichigan. Ctreetunder Improvement Resolution No.2036 in the amount of 853.321
The Board also approved the construction bond of same for 50% of the contract price
signed by United States Fidelity.and Guaranty Co.
Co !--.tract with Standard Construction "o. , for the pavement of all
alleys in Belleville First Unit Addition under Improvement Resolution No.2055 in the
amount of 9,830.40. The Board also approved the construction bond for same for I00%
of the contract price signed by the Maryland Casualty o.
The Board aporoved the Bond of Contractor in favor of Alex hocsts.
The Hoard approved the Bond of Contractor in fa or of Oharles A.
Jordon signed by the Ameri can ireiy . Co. , of New York.
The Board a pproved the renewal certificate for the excavation bond
in favor of Fredericks Plumbing o., in the amount of I,000.00.
The Board approved the renewal certificate for the excavatiorj bond.
in favor of James E. Haney in the amount of I,000.00.
The Beard ap roved the Guarantee Bond of Rocco 8imeri for the sewer
in t ae alley south of C peau t e et under Improvement Resolution No.196I, in the amount o
of 43.96 signed by the oiumbia asualty Co.
This being the date set, hearing was had on the assessment T�ooll for
the g-ade, curb and walk improvement on the west side of Fellows Street from �airview
Avenue to Irvington Avenue under Improvement esolution No.2003.
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and
no written remonstrance ms filed and the Board being fully advised in the premises,
finds that the several lets and parcels of land primarily assessed for said improvement
have. been benefited in the amounts named on said assessment roll. The Board, therefore,
declares said assessment roll, filed May I6th. , 19281 in all things ratified, confirmed
and approved and the proceedings closed. The Board now orders said assessment roll
delivered to the Department of Finance.
The Board approved a driveway at 526 N. Johnson street owned by
C. Ciesielski.
City Engineer, H. G. Wray, filed plans, specifications and estimate
and t Board adopted a resolution for the sewer, sidewalk and pavement on O'Brien
Str-fr-oTa the north line of 11hrquette Parr First Addition to Hamilton Street under
Improvement Resolution No.20ft.
In the above named improvement resolution, property owners waived
all objections on and in defense to any defect in said proceedings and to any
violation in procedure for the construction of street improvements as fixed by law.
Whereupon the Board, received, opened and read sealed proposals for -the construction
of said improvements as follmws:

Adopted, a resolution for the server and pavement improvement of stroets in Lincoln
PXmnvrthird Addition under Improvement Resolution No.2081. In the above named
im-provement Resolution, more than 55% in number of the lots in Lincoln Manor Third

ddition, filed a petition with *he Board as:cing for the construction of a pavement
and sewer on all streets and portions of atre ets lying within the boundary- of
said Addition. (Insert se-e Ales for copy of resolution and petition.)
In the above named improvement resolution, therefore, the Board hereby
orders that on the 6th., day of June, I928, this Board will meet in their office
in the Citj, Hall at 7-I5 P. M. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons
whose property may be affected by said improvements and will decide whether the
benefits to the several lots and .parcels of land liable to be assessed for said
improvements will be equal to the estimated cost of same as repotted -by the City
-Sngineer. The Board, therefore, orders that notice of said hewrilg shall be published.

orderg that on the 27th., day df June, 1928, this Board will meet in their..office in
the ity Hall at 7915 P. Y. , to hea and receive' remonstrances from all persons
whose property may be affected by said improvement and will decide whther the
henefiis to t'ae several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said impro
vement will be equal to the estimate cost as rer..orted by the City Engineer. The

In the matter of the following named improvements the Board
hereby orders that on the I2th. , day of June, 1928, this Board will receive, open and
consider sealed proposals for the construction of said improvements. The Board further
orders that notices of said proposals shall be published on the Ist., day, of June.
and on the 8th. , day of June, 1928, in the South Bend News Timis and Tribune according,
to law;
Pavement of Adams Street from Lincoln Way 'first to north line of
HumbIldt Street under Improvement Resolution No.2027.
Pavement on Johnson Street from south line of Vassar Avenue -
running east from said Johnson Street to Elwood Avenue under Improvement Resolution
No.2033.
Pavement on Pulaski Street from Dunham Street to Sample Street
under Improvement Res olut ion No.2059.
City Engineer, H. T. Wray, submitted the following report on
the petition filed by property ovmers on 30th. , Street under Improvement Resolution
j No.20I3 for a change of type of pavement;
"There are 37 resident property golders residing on this
improvement, 29 of whom havesi gned the petition, expressing the preference for a
a concrete pavement which is one of the t.vpes of modern city pavement included in
the specifications and bid under this proceeding. This being a majority in number,
I would, therefore, recommedn that a final order be issued for concrete pavement on
this improvement. signed H. G. Tray, ity Engineer."
Petition having been filed for a change of the type of pavement
other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of 30th. , Street
from l ishawaka hvenue to North Side Blvd., under Improvement Resolution No.20I3, and
this petition being signed by a majority of resident property owners along said
proposed improvement, the Board, this 29th., dayof May, I926, hereby makes a. final
order for concrete pavement light traffic as the ty-pe of ravement with which said
street shall be improved and awards the contract for said improvement to C. H. Eldred
at his bid of 24,848.42 for concrete light traffic pavement.
No petition having been filed for a change of type of pavement
other than that specified in the preliminary order for the zavement of Ewing Avenue
from the west line of Leer Street to Ernesperger Street under Improvement Resolution
No.20I6, the Board this 29th., day of Ms, I928, hereby makes a final order for winumt
concrete pavement light traffic as the type of tavement with which said street shall
be improved and awards the contract for same to Alex Bukrnvski at his low bid of
32,851*00 for concrete light traffic pavement.
No petition having been filed for a change of type of pavement
other than that specified in the preliminary order for the pavement of Sample Street
from a roint 308 feet west of the west line of Belleville 3rd. , Unit to the west
line of the right of way of New Jersey, Indiana and Illinois R. R. under Improvement
resolution No.2037, the Board this 29th. , day oP May, 1928, hereby makes a final order
for concrete ravement light traffic as the type of tavement with which said street
shall be improved and awards the contra et for said improvement to 17. J. Nees Co.,
at their bid of 42,036.95 for concrete eight traffic pavement.
No petition having been filed for a change in the type of pave-
ment other than that specified in the preliminary order for the ^avement of 36th. ,
Street from Mishawaka. Avenue to. North Side Blvd., under Improvement Resolution Nn.
20I4, the Board this 29 th. , day of Yay, I928, hereby makes a final . order for sheet
asphalt as the type of pavement with which said street shall be im1rowed and awards
the contract for said improvement to Albert Cons t�-ueti on Co . , at thkIr bid of
17,734.I0 for sheet asphalt heavy traffic pavement.

south line of tots 65 and 66 in Jefferson Heights addition under Improvement Resolution
No.I630. -
In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby, orders that on
the 20th., day Of June, 1928, this Board will, meet in their office in the City Nall
at 7-I5 P. , to hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose property has
been assessed for said improvement and will decide whether the several lots and parcels

In both of the above named assessment rolls, the Board, hereby, orders
that on the 20th. , day of June, I928, this Board will meet in their office in the
City Hall at 7-I5 P. IT., t o hear and receive remonstrances from all persons whose
property has been assessed for said improvements and will decide whether the several
lots; and parcels of land have been or will be benefited in the amounts named on said
primary assessment rolls or in a greater or less sum than that named onsaid rolls.

property bas been or will be affected by said. vacations. The Board further orders
that notices of said amount of benefits and. damages be delivered to all ?property
owners according to law, and that same be published according to law.
The Board approved the ray rolls in various d-apartments amounting..
to 5,233.48.
The Board approved pay rolls in Migineering and Board of Works Depart-
ments to be paid out of Track Elevation fund and hereby orders City Controller to
pay sames the amount being 533.33.
