Excavation bonds were approved for Arthur C. Rogers and R. E. Carlton. The monthly report of the Building Department is hereby accepted and placed on file. A letter was received from Ernest H. Miller, Traffic Engineer, with reference to traffic signal sequence at the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Hill Street in South Bend. Accepted and placed on file. q A petition was received from Tri-Way Builders with reference to improving Elmer Street from Bergan Street fi 5�4 to Pershing Street by the construction of Sanitary Sewer and Street Improvement according to law. Petition referred to City Engineering Department. i A petition was received from Tri-Way Builders to improve Huey Street from Bergan Street to Pershing Street by the construction of Sanitary Sewer according to Barrett Law Plan and is hereby referred to the City Engineering Department for investigation. The site plans for the Broadmoor Shopping Center is hereby approved by the Board this 4th day of February,'; 1957. February 12, Lincoln's birthday, is hereby a legal holiday according the statutes of the General Assembly 11 of Indiana and therefore the City Hall will be closed on said day. The contract for painting the City Hall is hereby awarded to the following bidder: Painting to begin immed iately. I. W. LOWER COMPANY A non -collusion affidavit and a bidder's 428 North Michigan St. bond in the amount of $3771.00 accompanied South Bend, Indiana the bid. Total net price------------------$3771.00 The time now being after 10:00 A.M. (CST) it was so announced and the bids for the following departments • were opened: Proofs of publication were submitted to the Board and found sufficient. Affidavits from the South Bend Tribune signed by C. G. livengood and from the Record signed by W. DeCanio were approved. Easement - Part of Lot "A" in the revised Plat of Broadmoor, Third Section, an Addition to the City of Sout Bend, Indiana is hereby approved by the Board this 4th day of February, 1957. Said easement is hereby re- corded in Record No. Page No. in the office of the County Recorder. Placed on file in the office of Board of Public Works & Safety. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2849, 1957 .This being the date set, hearing was held on the Resolution heretofore adopted by the Board of Public Work and Safety for the vacation of BELLEVILLE CENTER STREET FROM THE NORTH LINE OF WESTERN AVENUE TO THE SOUTH ,LINE OF WASHINGTON STREET, under Vacation Resolution No. 2849, 1957. The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appeared before the Board and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the said Resolution be finally adopted and said stree�be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll showing the assessment of benefits am jthe award of damages to the surrounding properties. R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the awards of damages and assessment ) of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the BELLEVILLE CENTER STREET FROM THE NORTH LINE OF WESTERN AVENUE TO THE SOUTH LINE OF WASHINGTON STREET, under Vacation Resolution No. 2849, 1957.
