VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2849, 1957 i RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC it WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That it is desirable to vacate i the following: BELLEVILLE CENTER STREET FROM THE NORTH LINE OF WESTERN AVENUE TO THE SOUTH LINE OF WASHINGTON STREET ! The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: j I UNPLATTED LAND TO THE WEST OWNED BY BELLEVILLE INVESTMENT COMPANY AND BLOCK "C" PLAT OF GARDEN VILLAGE 3rd UNIT Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 25th day of January and on the lst day `i of February, • 1957 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and The Record. The South Bend Tribune requests permission to occupy an area on Lafayette Street adjacent to their build -;I ing during such time when said company installs new pressers in their building. Traffic Engineer, Ernest H. Miller, is hereby authorized to make necessary arrangements and report on his findings as to his recom=! mendation. i Traffic signs were installed at the following locations: 1 hour time limit parking in front of 319 East Wayne Street, Stop signs on Donald Street at Morris Street; No Parking This Side signs installed on east' side of Walnut Street between Colfax and Linden Avenues. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2845, 1956 This being the date set, hearing was held on the Resolution heretofore adopted by the Board of Public Worki and Safety for the vacation of A PORTION OF THE NORTH AND SOUTH ALLEY LYING BETWEEN CHAPIN AND PINE ST:REETiI AND DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Beginning at the NW corner of Lot 14, Erastus Perkins' 2nd Sub -Division of part of Bank Out Lot 76, South Bend, Indiana; thence south along the east line of the first alley west of Chapin Street 66.04 feet to the north- erly line of the New York Central Railroad Right-of-way; thence westerly 9.9 feet to the west line of the north and south alley; thence north along the west line of said alley 66.04 feet, more or less, to a point west of the NW corner of said Lot 14; thence east 9.9 feet to place of beginning. under Vacation Resolution no. 2845, 1956. The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstrators having appeared before the Board and no written remonstrances having been filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded and', unanimously carried that the said Resolution be finallly adopted and said alley be vacated. The Engineering Department is hereby directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the assessment of ben - fits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. R. S.
