NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The City of South Bend Police Department requests approval for declaring a total of 5 Remington 700 Rifles (serial numbers G6853247, G6269209, G6850524, G62783,23, F6288277) as surplus. The listed surplus trade value would be used to purchase new Remington shotguns for issue to officers, The South Bend Police Department request approval for declaring surplus older police equipment which retains some trade in value for purchase by smaller police agencies across the United States. By trading in this equipment the Police Department will be able to purchase necessary firearms for issue to new and existing police officers.
