"C", Type 1, Pavement and that the Rieth-Riley Construction Company, Inc., South Bend, Indiana has the
lowest and best bid for Class "C" Type 3 Pavement.
We recommend that the street be paved with Class "C", Type 3 (6 " Bituminous) Pavement.

VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2848, 1956
RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That it is desirable to
vacate the following:
DONALD STREET FROM THE WEST LINE OF MAIN STREET TO THE EAST LINE OF THE NORTH
AND SOUTH ALLEY WEST OF MAIN STREET
The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation:
LOTS NUMBERED 43 and 44 in BOWMAN'S ADDITION
Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 26th day of October and on the 2nd day of Nov-
ember, 1956 in the South Bend Tribune and The Record.

hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings.

A special meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety was held on Friday, October 19, 1956 at
2:30 P.M. (DST). All members were present.
The main purpose of this special Board is to award the contracts for the paiting of Indiana Avenue
and also for Sample Street. The following action was taken and contracts were awarded to the following:
