The first North and South alley West of Thirty-sixth Street South of Northside Bouleva: in the City of South Bend subject to a 20 ft. easement over the center line of the 15" outfall sewer. Letter referred to the Engineering Department for prepargation of a Vacation Resolution. I A letter was received from the City Planning Commission favorably recommending the vacation of the alley extending from North Chicago Street East to Notth Illinois Street and was referred to the City Engi- neering Department for preparation of a Vacation Resolution. The North and South alley between Falcon Street and Kenmore Street running from Jefferson Street north to Washington Street, 2. The North and South alley between Kenmore Street and Wellington Street running from Jefferson Street north to Washington Street, and 3. Contract or's bonds were approved for Robert B. Klimek, From Building Company, and Rieth-Rile Construction Company. Excavation Bonds were approved for Marion M. Hamilton & Sons, and Reed Construction Company. Stop signs were installed on Ridgedale Avenue, south west corner, at Miami Street, Robinson Street, both sides at Donald Street, 29th Street, both sides, at Hastings Street, Vernon Street, both si at Fox Street, and on Ford at Gladstone, both sides, making this a 4-Way Stop. A petition was received asking for the vacation of the East-West alley on the west side of Franklin Street between Stull and Broadway. Petition referred to the City Planning Commission for further investigation and recommendation. A petition was received asking for the vacation of Brookfield Street from the north line of Indiana Avenue to the south line of the first east -west alley north of Indiana Avenue. Petition referred to the City Planning Commission for further investigation and recommendation. The bids for the Sibley Street Improvement was awarded to McIntyre & Jones Construction Compail ny, 1121 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. The bid reads as follows: i Total bid price, extension of Items 1-1 and 2-1 Plus Items 3 to 7............ $50223.50 IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 2836 WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works and Safety pursuant to its notice to do so, met on the 9th day of July, 1956, at the hour of 9:00 A.M. (CST) and publicly opened and considered all bids for the im- provement of Sibley Avenue from the West property line of College Street to the East property line of Broo field Street -'-by constructing a Class "C" pavement (Types 1 to 4) in accordance with Improvement Resolution No. 2836, 1956, passed by this Board on May 21, 19569 and confirmed by this Board on June 25, 1956, there- fore BE IT RESOLVED: That the Street be paved with Class "C" Type 1 (6" concrete pavement). The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lot Number 1, Chicago Plaza Addition also Lot Number 9, Replat of Lots 9 to 18 inclusive, Chi cago Plaza Addition and Lots Numbered 33 and 349 Part of Lincoln Plaza Addition. Special policemen bonds were examined and approved for George Doy, Robert N. Osborn, Donald James Wahl, James Arlen Nevins, Abraham Hoogenboom, Edward J. Pilarski, and George N. Beamer. A petition was filed and approved for the construction of a permanent type residential pavement oni1 34th Street from East Jefferson to East Washington Street and the petition was referred to the City Enginee%'s Department. The following plans were approved: Ardmore Trail Street Plan in Brentwood Estates, Sheridan Avenue plans in Brentwood Estates, Sheridan Plaza, Roxebury Plaza, and Surrey Lane Street Plan in Brentwood Estates, Brentwood Drive Pavement Plan in Brentwood Estates, Woodbine Way and Brentwood Drive plans in Brentwood Es- tates, and Ardmore Trail Street plans in Brentwood Estates. A stop sign was installed on the notthwest corner of alley that dead ends into East Madison Street one-half block east of Michigan Street.
