Cole & Son, Civil Engineers, reported to the Board, Profiles, Draw- ings, Plans, General Details, Specifications, Estimates, and Preliminary Improvement Res; olution No. 2829 for the improvement of Woodlawn Blvd. (Lots 373, 374, and 375 only) frc the existing manhole at Lot #372 to Inglewood Place by constructing a local combined sewe�p. The Board approved the reports and passed Improvement Resolution No. 2829, authorizing these improvements and the 26th day of March, 1956 at the hour of 10:00 A.M. as the time, and the office of the Board in said City as the place, when and where all persons whose property may be affected by such proposed improvement, may be heard, and all petitions and remonstrances, received and the Board will, on said day, decide whethe the benefits accruing to abutting and adjacent property, and to the City of South Bend, Indiana, will be equal to or exceed the estimated cost of said improvements. The Clerk of the Board is hereby ordreed to give notice by two weekly publications, of the time an place of hearing of this resolution, adopted on this 5th day of March, 1956 and to be pu lished on the 9th day of March and the 16th day of March, 1956 There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was ad journed at 10:40 A.M. Good Friday, according to the statutes of Indiana is a state holiday, and therefore the facilities of the City Hall will be closed Friday, March 30, 1956. STOP SIGN installed on northwest corner of 34th street at Vine Street. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the award of !damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of Johnson Street from the North line of Washington Avenue to the South line of Orange Street, under Vaca- tion Resolution No. 2828. Further action on said Resolution was held in abeyance, until the contingency outlined in the letter of 12/8/S5 from the -City Planning Commission with • `reference to the South Shore Railroad warning gates on the south side of Orange Street at,, Johnson Street to be removed; the gates on the north side of Orange St. at Johnson to re-:; `main; that South Shore warning gates and lights should be installed at the Brookfield- !;Orange intersection which is to be completed before any final action. Officer Knepper counted only 23 vehicles from 9 p.m. to 9:50 P.M. MARCH7, 1956 i' Day Officer Kwasneske, traffic very light, no sPeeders on Altgeld. Night officers;;' jKnepper, Klimczak, no violations, one offense, 35 in 30, warning to Sylvia Kercher, 4 W! !Madison, City. Officer Gloyeske, W. Ewing Assignment. Reports that in regard to speeding', ,the street in bad condition, and almost impossible to speed in this area, issued one ticket ifor truck on Blvd. MARCH 8, 1956 No violations, traffic very light, all people in Altgeld area who approached officers ,knew of their surveliance, and stated that they hoped ed we could keep it up.
