Home My WebLink About11/26/1951 Board of Public Works MinutesDEDICATION WHEREAS, a deed of dedication conveying a strip of land for a right of way for a City Street to be known as Tucker Drive is now presented to the Board, which strip of land is as follows: Beginning at a point on the West line of Olive Street thirty (30) feet west and two hundred twenty (220) feet South of the Southeast Quarter (SE-1) of the Northwest Quarter (NIAT4) of Section 15, Township 37 North, Range 2 East; thence West approximately twenty-six Hundred ten (2610) feet to the West line of said Section 15, Township 37 North, Range 2 East; thence South along said West line of Said Section forty (40) feet; them e East approxima#ely twenty-six hundred ten (2610) feet to the West line of Olive Street; thence North forty (40) feet to the place of beginning, which strip has heretofore been known as Tucker Drive, in the City of South Bend, Indiana, and This dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety in it Row #i8, Drawer No. 5, and recorded in Book Page ## 3 7G - �Eq- in the Recorders office of St. Joseph County# NCR, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that this public street dedicated to the public use in said deed is hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana. STREET DEPARTMENT: Melton,0. Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: STanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining toj4 his department were discussed. Johnson, and were ordered filed. Petitions were received asking for the construction of sidewalks, curb, gutter and pavements on North Elmer Street from Keller Street to Marquette Avenue and from Marquett( Avenue to the north property line of Lot #447 in the Marquette Heights Addition to the City of South Bend, by Fetter Homes of South Bend, Inc., These were referred to the City Engineering Department. fl • • • 9 10, 67 I Petitions were received from Whitcomb 8c Keller, Inc., as follows: �! The Board approved plans for a pavement on. Charles Street from Chippewa Avenue to Klinger Street; plans for a sewer on St. Joseph -Street from Jennings Street to Klinger Street; plans for a sewer on Charles Street from Jennings Avenue to Klinger Street and plans for a sewer on Dean Street from Fellows Street to St. Joseph Streets all for TP,,. itcomb it and Keller; Inc. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2690 i. - This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the North and j South alley between Webster and Arnold Streets from the North line of Ewing Avenue to j�the south line of the first east and west alley north of Ewing Avenue under Vacation Resolution No. 2690. it In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no w rit ten remon- strances were filed, The Clerk of the Board submitted roofs of • p publication of notices and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and; ! parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares same �in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification, and the proceedings dlosed and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the i j various property owners so benefitted and all proceedings had with reference to said alley vacation are hereby sustained. - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2691 This being the cute set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award '' 11of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the first alley • i South of;Calvert Street from Swygart Avenue ITest to the east line of the North and South j; Alley and from the west line of the North and South Alley West to Talnut Street, under is Vacation Resolution No. 2691. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. 1I Clint Knoblock, an employee of the City Cemetery department, who was injured in lifting an automatic power mower whileat work, was advised by the City Doctor to have an operation. The Board directed that Mr. Knoblock have the said operation.
