NOW$ THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alley and public places dedicated to the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana. The Board approved plans for a pavement on Charles Street from Chippewa Avenue to Klinger Street, STREET DEPARTMENT: Melton 0. Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters per- taining to his department were discussed. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 a.m. November 19, 1951 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, November 19, 1951, at 9:30 a.m. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of $32,411.32 were approved and ordered paid. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractors bonds in the amount of $1,000,00 each were approved and filed for Wil iam Frankfort, Midland Engineering, Co. Inc., and William H. Burke and Robert H. Burke. A petition was received asking for the vacation of Howard Street from Twyckenham Drive to White Oak Drive. .This was referred to the City Plan Commission for investi- gation and report. The Board approved plans for a sewer on Elmer Street from Keller Street to a point 485 feet North of Marquette Boulevard, and a sewer on Marquette Boulevard from Elmer Street to Huey Street for Better Homes, Inc., The Board approved plans for a sewer on Corby Boulevard from Ironwood Drive to the Centerline of Section 5, T 37 N, R 3)5, sheets one of two sheets and sheet two of two sheets for the Crown Development Company.. The Board approved plans for a lift station for McKinley Terrace Addition for Crown Development Co. Inc., The Board approved plans for pavement walk and curb on Chicago Street from Lincoln Way West north to South line of alley • 10 • • • 3651 VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2695 i RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS CF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That it i is desiratrle to vacate the following: i The alley South of Monroe Street from Main Street West to the East line of the north and south alley running from Monroe Street to South Street. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation 1 Lots numbered to 8 inclusive and Lots numbered 55 to 60 inclusive, in Martin's i 43 4 , Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana. • • • 0 • Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 23rd day of November and on the 30th day of November, 1951 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the Tri-County News. Noble, Clerk VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2692 This being the date set, hearing was had on the resolution heretofore adopted by { the Board of Public Works for the vacation of the first alley West of Eddy Street from Washington Street north to the South line of the alley running East and West under Vaca- tion Resolution No. 2692. The Clerk of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of ,publication and no remonstrators having appeared and no written remonstrances having bee ;filed with the Clerk, it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried that the said resol i ution be finally adopted and the said alley be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an assessment roll covering the assessment of benefits and the award of damages to the surrounding properties. R. S. DEDICATION WHEREAS, a deed of dedication conveying a strip of land for a right of way for a City Street to be known as Tucker Drive is now presented to the Board, which strip of land is as follows. Beginning at a point on the West line of Olive Street thirty (30) feet west and two hundred twenty (220) feet South of the Southeast Quarter (SE') of the Northwest Quarter (NUtTg) of Section 15, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, thence West approximately twenty-six Hundred ten (2610) feet to the West line of said Section 15, Township 37 North, Range 2 East; thence South along said West line of Said Section forty (40) feet; them e East approxima#ely twenty-six hundred ten (2610) feet to the West line of Olive Street; thence North forty (40) feet to the place of beginning, which strip has heretofore been known as Tucker Drive, in the City of South Bend, Indiana, and This dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public W(Yks and Safety in Row #18, Drawer No. 5, and recorded in Book # "� 93 Page # 3 7G - e,7% , in the Recorde f s office of St. Joseph County# ` NOUN, TBEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that this public street dedicated to the public use in said deed is herebyaccepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
