A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, March 19, 1951,
at 9:30 a.m. All members were present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved. Salary claims were approved and ordered aid in the amount of 24,378.13,
Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of 9,746.25 were approved and ordered

TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters pertaining
to his Department were discussed.
A letter was received from Mrs. Bruce Goffeney, 1201 West Jefferson Boulevard, peti-
tioning for stop signs at Maple Street and Jefferson Boulevard. This was referred to Mr.
Miller for investigation and report.
BUSSES: Northern Indiana Transit, Inc., requested permission to place signs on the ligh
posts in the down town area showing the locations of bus loading stops. Permission was
granted.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bond was approved and ordered filed for L. M.
Macumber and Sons.
The Clerk of the Board was directed to advertise for bids for the recapping of Main
Street from Western Avenue to LaSalle Street, bids to be accepted until 11:00 a.m..,
Monday, April 9, 1951.
STREET DEPARTMENT: Melton 0. Brannai.,Street Commissioner, was present and matters per-

The Board approved a Performance Bond for the Standard Oil Company for materials.
PARKING METER DEPARTMENT: MAURICE C. Vennet, Auditor, presented his report for the week
ending March 17, 1 1.
CEMETERY DEPAR PIENT Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining to
his Department were discussed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the Meeting was adjourned
at 11:00 a.m.
