The Board approved the installation of stop signs at Washington Street and Coq"uill- ard Drive, .both sides; On Sunnyside Street ,at South Street, both sides and on Edison Street at Ironwood Drive, both sides. e - BUSSES: A rletter was received from Northern'iIndiana Transit, Inc., informing the Board that they will put into effect the change in the Western Avenue Bus Route on October 14, 1950. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Charles W. Aulm, Adams Roofing and Constructi-on Company, Former Dix and Russell Flatt. The Board aplr owed plans for the construction of a dumb -waiter shaft on the outside of a building; awned by the Shrine Club at 107 Lincoln Way East. A letter was received from the City Plan Cormnission indicating that they aplr ove the vacation of the first alley North of Rupel Street from Johnson Street to the first alley East of Johnson Street. The Engineering Department was directed to prepare a-. Vacation-Reaolution for same. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2658 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC X RKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIAN A: That it is desirable to vacate the following: The alley South of Fredrickson Street from O'Brien Street to the West line of the alley East of O'Brien Street. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation Lots Numbered 7 to 11 inclusive, In Janowski Second Subdivision, Lots Numbers 1 to six inclusive in Janowski Subdivision of East part of Lot number 6 in K and M Addition, Lots numbered 1 to 7 and 14 to 20 in Fredrickson Melrose Addition. • • U • 40 I'] Ll 197 0 • • E • 0 Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 12th day of October and on the 119• day of October, 1950 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the Tri-County News, This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 30th day of October, 1950 at 11:00. Bruggner DEDICATION, WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon is now +presented to the Board, to be known as Plat.of Part of Block,"F" in Garden Village 2nd JUnit, and part of Block "Al' in Garden Village 3rd Unit, Additions to the City of South JBend, Indiana, and WHEREAS, this plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public ;Works and Safety in row #18, Drawer #5, and,recorded in Book 18 Page G, Book 18 in the 'Recorder's Office of St. Joseph County, NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public places dedicated to the public use in said plat are hereby accepted and approved by said Board for and on behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana. . VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 2653 This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of the alley North of Western Avenue from Franklin Street to the West line of the alley West of La - Fayette Boulevard, under Vacation Resolution No. 2653. In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remon- strances were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices, and same were found sufficient. The Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and .parcels of land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares aame in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings _closed, and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the various property owners so benefitted and all proceedings had with reference to said alley vacation are hereby sustained. STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Melton 0. Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed.
