The Board approved the installation of a traffic signal light at intersection of
Madison and Michigan Streets, which were placed in operation June 15, 1950.

Petitions were received asking for the construction of a permanent type
pavement on
]ROBINSON STREET from Calvert to Randolph Streets, RANDOLPH STREET to the New
York Central.1

The Board approved plans for the erection of a canopy over the sidewalk-

Mr. Shearer appeared before the Board to ask permission to erect a stand on the sideL
walk in the fifteen hundred block of Mishawaka Avenue for entertainment. The Board de-
nied the request for the erection of a stand, but granted permission for the
placing of
lights and flags along the store fronts and have roving musicians.
Mr. Fread representing the Fread Decorating Company appeared before the
Board to ask]
permission to place flags and bunting on the street light polts along Michigan Street
June 23 to June 25, inclusive, during the Eagles Convention. Permission was
granted.

A petition was received asking that the dump at Beck's Lake be closed. No action

5 and extending from Howard Street to the South Line of Lots Numbered 4 and 5 as
shown on the recorded plat of Kelley's Sub -division of Lots 131, 1321, 133, 137, 138
and 139 in Sorin's Second Addition to the Town of Lowell, now within and a part of
the City of South Bend.

pertaining to his Department were discussed.
The Schuyler Colfax Post Number 3194, Veterans of Foreign Wars. were granted permis
sion to close Grant Street from Ford Street to the Grand Trunk Western Railroad tra_,.cks
from July 7 to 16, inclusive, for the purpose of holding a Street Festival.
ARKING METER DEPARTMENT: Mr. Maurice C. Vennet, .Auditor, presented his report for the
week ending June 17, 1950.
CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining
to his Deportment were discussed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
