Minutes of the previous meeting were read and appro ed. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT:,._A Contract Bond for Alvin Linn was approved and ordered filed. The Underwood Display Company was authorized to place four banners across the two hundred block of West Colfax Avenue, but were instructed to file proper insurance certi-11 ficates with the Board. 1 A letter was receiged from the City Plan Commission wherein they indicate they ap11 - proved the petition to vacate sections of two alleys at Howard and St. Peters Streets fo the Park Department, The Engineering Department was directed to prepare a vacation reso-; lution for same. li The Board approved a plat showing lots in Wooded Estates. Dedication WHEREAS, a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon is now pre-! sented to the Board, to be known as Miami Hills Addition to the City of South Bend, Indi I • ana, and This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public Works and Safety in Row # , Drawer # , and recorded in Book Page , in the Recorder's Office of St. Joseph County. Dunel, 406 East South Street, appeared before the Board to request that the Sample Street bus on its return route to town go north on Fellows to South Street; thence, west on South Street to Michigan; thence, north on Michigan Street to the place of beginning instead of its present route, north on Fellows Street to Sample Street; thence, west on Sample Street to Michigan Street; thence, north on Michigan. This was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and report. PARKING LOTS:._ An application for a parking lot at 408 South Carroll Street was approved by the Board and referred to the City Controller's office for proper licensing. ENGINEERING DEPARTI..�,EI'ST:Contractors' Bonds were approved and ordered filed for Verlin V. Engle, Bill Roseboom and Ralph E. Keller, Jr., An Excavation Bond in the amount of �101000 was approved and ordered filed for Checkley Contractors, Incorporated, 1171 West Front Street, Dowagiac, Michigan. Checkley Contractors, Incorporated, of Dowagiac, Tichigan filed a Tiaintenance Bond in the amount of u2,500.00 covering the construction of a sanitary sewer system Birchwood Avenue from Sample Street to the end of Birchwood Avenue, and on Sample Street from Green- ;view Avenue to a point 728 feet west of Greenview.
