STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Melton Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters pe
twining to his Department vrere discussed.
The Board authorized the South Bend Housing Autiority to use a piece of Street Depa.r
Mont equipment to -wit, a bulldozer or grader to level a piece of ground for• playground
purposes at the Southmoor Housing Project. The equipment is to be used at the convenien
of the Street Department preferably on Saturday afternoon. There is to be no charge for
the use of the equipment, but the operator of said equipment will be paid by the South
Bend Housing .Authority.

A Special I~• eeting of the Board of Public Tiorks wa s held on Tuesday, March 28 at 11:0
a.m. Mr. Baer tira.s absent. The r,.eeting was called for' the purpose of awarding bids.
The bid for repairing the bridge (Logan Street Bridge) was awarded to Peter Schumach
& Sons for a price, after certain deductions, of s 4,901.10. This bid was accepted by the
Board, subject to approval.by the Common Council.
The Board accepted the bid of Ben I'Iedow for a. 1/2 Ton Truck for the Engineering Depart-
ment for the sum of 1, 716. 75 less the trade-in allot,rance for 1 - 1941 GI, C Panel `i'ruck of��
$421.75 w1nich rakes a Dotal price of w1,295.00.
