BUS ROUTES: Mr. Waterson representing the Northern Indiana Transit Company appeared before the Board to request permission to extend the Ford Street bus line on a trial basis'to the village of Ardmore and beyond. This bus route will be north on the Mayflower Road to Lincoln Way West; East on Lincoln Way West to Moss Road; South on Moss Road to present terminus; return to South Bend over present route. Permission was granted for this route on a trial basis. ENGINEERING DEEARTMENT: Contractor's Bonds in the amount ofU1,000.00 were approved and ordered filed for T. W. Miller, Fred DuBois and Charles L. Murphy. A petition was received asking that an alley between Bryan and Beale Streets, in the 800 block, be opened to the public use. This was referred to Mr. Andrysiak for investigation and report. The Board approved sewer plans presented by the Colpeart Realty Company for Glad- stone Avenue from Washington Street to Linden Street; Edison Street from Washington to Linden Street; Albert Street from Washington Street to Linden Avenue; Sheridan Avenue from Washington to Linden Avenue; Washington Street from Gladstone Avenue to the alley north of Sheridan Avenue. The Midland Engineering Company was granted permission to occupy an alley running East from Michigan Street to the north, and south alley between Jefferson and Wayne Street from 7:'00 A. M. to 3:30 P. M. Each day after 3:30 half of the alley will be made avail- able to traffic. This is for a period of ten days from the 19th to the 29th of Septem- ber inclusive. Permission jfor the closing of these alleys was granted upon condition that Peter Schumaker and Sons I!makes such agreement with abuting property owners as will permit the free flow of traffi at the intersections of the alleys.
