The Bids for the improvement of Hamden Court from the North Line of La Salle Avenue
to the South Line of alley North of LaSalle Avenue in accordance with Improvement Resol-
ution No. 2595, 1949, passed by this Board on May 23, 191+9, are hereby referred to you
for examination and tabulation to report to us with recommendations.

The Board of Public Works met in a special meeting on Thursday, June 9th, 1949 at
11:00 o'clock, All members were present. The meeting was called for the purpose of
approving the following reports from Charles W. Cole,on streets to be paved.

Gentlemen:
In the matter of the Bids for the improvement of Stanfield Street from the Spout.
line of Howard Street to the north line of Corby Street in accordance with Improvement
Resolution No. 2585, 191+9, passed by this Board on May 23, 1949. We hereby report that
we have examined the several Bids submitted to the Board on June 8, 191+9 and find that
the Rieth Riley Construction Company, South Bend, Indiana has the lowest- and best bid
for Class"C" Type 1 - Portland Cement Concrete Pavement and the Rieth-Riley Construction
Company, South Bend, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class "C"- Type 4, Compacted
Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface Pavement.
We recommend that the kind of Pavement placed on the above Street be Class"C
Type fit-, Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface.

Whereas, the Board of Public Works and Safety pursuant to its notice to do so,
met on the 8th day of June, 1949, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M.C,S.T. and publicly
opened and considered all bids for the improvement of Stanfield Street from the South
line of Howard Street to the North line of Corby Street in accordance with Improvement
Resolution No. 2585, 1949, passed by this Board on May 23, 1949.
Therefore, Be It Resolved that the roadway of said street be improved by paving
with Class "C"- Type 1+ - Compacted Aggregate.Base, Bituminous Concrete Surfade.

north line of Dogwood Drive to 201 north of the south line of Sample Street, in accord-
ance with Improvement Resolution No. 2587, 1949, passed by this Board on May 23, 1949.
We hereby report that we have examined the several Bids submitted to the Board on $Mane 8
1949 and find that the Reed Construction Co., Mishawaka, Indiana has the lowest and best
bid for Class t'Ct' Type 1, Portland Cement Concrete Pavement and that the Rieth Riley
Construction Co., South Bend, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class ttC", Type 4,
Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface Pavement.
We recommend that the kind of Pavement placed on the above Street be
Class "C", Type 4, Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface.

Bids submitted to the Board on June 8, 1949 and find that the Reed Construction Company,
Mishawaka, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class "CI' -Type 1-Portland Cement
Concrete Pavement and that the Rieth Rileg Construction Co., South Bend, Indiana has the
lowest and best bid for Class ttCtt-Type 4-Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete

Construction Company, South Bend, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class "C" Type
Portland Cement Concrete Pavement that the Rieth Riley Construction Co,, South Bend, Ind-
iana has the lowest and best bid,for Class "Cr' Type 4-Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminou
Concrete Surface Pavement.

ined the several bids submitted to the Board on June 8, 1949and we find that the Rieth-
Riley Construction Co., South Bend, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class "C"
Type 1, Portland Cement Concrete Pavement and that the Rieth-Riley Construction Co., Sout
Bend, Indiana has the lowest and best bid for Class "C" Type 4-Compacted Aggregate Base,
Bituminous Concrete Surface Pavement.
