taining to his department was discussed.
The Traffic Engineer Ernest killer and his assistcxnt Sieve Iva.ncovics were authoriz
to attend to Road School at Purdue University at Lafayette, Ins irna, on April llth to.
April 24th inclusive.
Mr. Lil:ler reported favorably on the request from Stephen TSa.Iika.s for permission
to close Marine Street for certain hours during the day for playground purposes. A
schedule is to be worked out with Mr. Tsalikas.
Letter 'lids were received from the Englewood electric Co 9. i` cCaffery Electric Company
nd the South Bend Electric ric Company for traffic signals and equipment for the Traffic

epar tment. The Board accepted parts of all three bids.
TAXI CABS t A letter was received from Leon Kowalski, Attorney, relative to the applica-
tion of Joseph ender for a taxi cab stand on North t'_ Lain Street, ind ca 2ng Gh`la.L" C1'_e reg-
ulations Outlined in the taxi cab ordinance have been fulfilled. The Board granted Mr.
Bender a one cab stand On North Main Street in front of the Club: Lido.
QNGINEERING DEPARTMENT:
A Contractor's Bond for Alex Ross and an Excavation Bond for the S011itt Con.structior

the Board.
Upon the request of Mr. Brannon, the 3oard authorized the _=_en on the Street and Sei1
Departments to work a nine () hour day, five days a week, instead Of the present 8 hour
