Vacation Resolution I•,o. 2584
This being the date set, hearing was rad on the resolution heretofore adopted by
the Board of Public 7.111orks for the vacation of the alley North of Lincoln '�,,ay ';lest from
Terrace Aven.ut to Bcndix Drive, ands the alley +Test of Terrace t'venue frori the 1,31orth
line of the alley North of Lincoln Way ';.rest to end, under Vacation -resolution No. 2584.
The Clergy: of the Board having shown sufficient proofs of publication and no remonstra-
tors having; appeared and no written rerionstrances having been filed eTith the Cierh, it
was moved, seconded and unanimously carried tl,a't the said resolution be finally adopted
and the said alleys be vacated. The Engineering Department is directed to prepare an
assessment roll covering the assessment o�' benefits a d the award of Jana. es to the
surrounding properties.
An Excavation bond was approved and ordered filed for Joseph 1,11, Himay.

TRAFFIC Ei,GINEERIIJIG: Air. Ernest miller, 'Traffic Engineer, was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.
TAXI -CAB STA'_`TDS: The petition of Joseph Tinder for a taxi -cab stand to be located on
North Main Street, ?.eras carefull-y considered by the Board. After a full discussion of
the matter, the Board drafted a letter to Leon Kowalski, i,,ir. Binder's attorney, indica,
that if Mr. Binder can comply with all of the requirerients of the taxicab ordinance,
and if the public needs and convenience warrant the granting of this stand, it will be
considered further.

pertaining to his department were discussed.

I The following bids for Street Depart`tent rn.a.teria.ls were accepted:

Mr. Ray S Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed a primary assessment
roll_ showing the awards of damages and ,the assessments of benefits ,in
the matter of the vacation of the alley North of Lincoln- Gray West from
Terrace Avenue to Bendix Drive, and, the alley West of Terrace Avenue from
the North line of the alley North of Lincoln Way West to end,,under
Vacation Resolution No. 2584.
In the above named assessment toll, the Board hereby orders that it
will meet -in the City Hall at 11 00 A, M. on the loth day .of March, 19L!-9
for the purpose, of hearing and receiving remonstrances from all persons
interested in or affected by said vacation, and the' -Board further orders
that notice of said hearing, together with the a.n ount of damages awarded
and benefits be addressed to the property owners by publishing same on
the 25th day ,of February and the th day of March, 1949 in. the South Bend
Dailey Tribune and the Weekly Mirror.
