December 21, 1948
A special meeting of the Board of Public 1,3orks was held on Tuesday, December 21,
1948 at 10:30 A.M. All members were present.
The meeting was called for the purpose of accepting bids for the equipment for the
Street Department. The bids having been tabulated, the Board made the following awards,
these bids being, in the :hoard's opinion, the lowest and best bids submitted:
Ben Mcdow, Inc. 5 truck @ $1,470.50 each less trade-in allowances, making

Korte Bros. 1 Chip spreaders @ $407.00 less trade-in allowance of $65.00
There being no further business -to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
at 11:00 A.M.

1948 at 9:00 A.14. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read

TRAFFIC DEPART.MENT: Pair. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per-
taining to his department were discussed.
Mr. Miller presented the following list of stop signs, which the Board approved:
Inglewood Place at Woodlatam Avenue, both sides
Kessler Boulevard at 11oodlawn Avenue, northeast corner
Huron Street a.t Kaley Street, both sides
Vassar Avenue at Wilbur Street, northeast corner
PARKING T,iETER DEPARTMENT: Tyr. 1 aurice Vennet, Auditor, filed his report for the week
ending December 27,719'8.
The minutes were ordered changed to the effect that the one -hour period should be
changed to two-hour periods on St. Joseph Street fromL'r�estern to Pionroe Street and on
South Street from N_ichiga.n to St. Joseph Street, as soon as the plates and signs are
ready,
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT_: A Petition was received asking for the installation of a sewer
on Illinois Street from Ford Street to the alley South of Western Ivenuc. This was
referred to the City Engineer for investigation.
A petition was received asking for the installation of a sezrer on Chicago Street
from Ford Street to the alley south of Western Avenue. This was referred to the City
Engineer for investigation.
