451 NOVEMBER 81 1948 11 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, November 8, 1948 at,9:00 A.M. All members were present. Fries, Leslie H. Doty d/b/a. South Bend Sand- blasting Company and Lewis Flowers and James Flowers, Partners. The Board approved a sewer easement on a lot owned by the Mennonite Board of Missio •,'and Charities Trustees, a fifteen foot strip of land off of and from the entire east .side of Lot #3 in Ruckman's lst subdivision to the City of South Bend. _ A letter was received from the City Plan Commission indicating that theyapprove the vacation of a part of East Victoria Street between Twyckenha.m Drive and York Road. she Engineering Department wad directed to prepare a vacation resolution for same. • �. Mr. R. S. Andrysiak, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing the award f damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of she vacation of the first all `South of Jennings Avenue from Michigan Street East to the West line of the North and South alley under Vacation Resolution No. 2582. In the above named assessment roll, the Board hereby orders that it will meet in th i City Hall on November 29, 191+8 at 11:00 A.14. for the purpose of hearing and receiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said 'vacation, and the Board further orders that notice of said hearing, together with the amount of damages awarded ( and benefits assessed be addressed to the property owners by publishing same on the 112th day of November and on the 19th day of November, 1948 in the South Bend,Da.ily Tri- bune and the Weekly i•<irror. FINAL ORDER I I1PROVEVIENT RESOLUTION NO. 2580 1948 jl November 8, 1948 Whereas, the Board of Public Works, did on the 26tb'rday of October 1948, adopt a Preliminary Order designating a Class C. Type 41 Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous j Concrete Surface as the kind of Pavement for the improvement of Sibley Avenue from the ! West line of Wilber Street to the east line of College Street in accordance with Improve ment Resolution No. 2580 1948, passed by this Board on September 30, 1948. BE IT RESOLVED, That the Preliminary Order is hereby, in all thingz confirmed and j sa.id street ordered paved with a. Class C. Type 4, Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous I. Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. The Commissioner informed the Board that he was in need of a one ton truck and the Clerk of the Board was directed to advertise for..one, bids to be returnable on November 29, 1948. EMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski,, Sexton, was presenta.nd matters pertaining o his department werediseussed.
