Mr. Troeger was absent. The meeting was called for the purpose of holding a public hearing on a. street improvement. IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION No. 2580, 1948 Department of Public Works South Bend, Indiana September 30, 1948 For the improvementnof Sibley Avenue under Improvement Resolution No. 2580, 1948, adopted September 7, . 1948 from West line of Wilber Street to East line of College Street by draining, grading and paving the roadway with a Class C, Pavement, Type 1 - Portland Cement Concrete; Type 2 - Bituminous Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Con- crete Surface; Type 3 - Bituminous Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Coated Aggregate Surface; Type 4 - Compacted Aggregate Base, Bituminous Concrete Surface; Type 5 - Com- pacted Aggegate Base, Bituminous Coated Aggregate Surface. After hearing all persons interested who appeared and being fully advised in the premises, the Board decides that the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same as reported by the City Civil Engineer. Therefore Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana., that Improvement Resolution No. 2580, 1948, duly passed by this Board on September 7, 1948 for the above improvement, be and the same is hereby in all things confirmed and the improvement is hereby ordered to be made. Pajakowski, Clerk of the Board PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS ADOPTED NO. 2580, 1948 South Bend, Indiana September 30, 1948 BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the Profiles, Drawings, Plans, General Details, Specifications and Estimates approved by this Board on the 7th day of September, 1948, for the improvement of Sibley Avenue from West line of Wilber Street to East line of College Street by drain- ing, grading and paving the roadway with a Class C Pavement, Types one (1) to Five {5} inclusive, be and the same are hereby adopted and ordered placed on file in the office of the Department of Engineering of this Board. r October 25, 1948, at the hou3Z of 10:00 O'clock A.M. C.S.T. is hereby fixed as the time, and the office of the Board of Public Works and Safety in the City Hall of this City, as the place, when and where the Board of Public Works and Safety will open and consider bids for the above named improvement, provided all bids for the construction of said work shall be filed in the office of the Clerk of this Board before 10:00 o'clock A.M. C.S.T. of said day. Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a certifie check, payable to the Treasurer of this city in the sum of two and one-half (21/2) per cent of the amount of his bid or a bid bond for two and one-half (2 1/2) percent of the amount of his bid, to,insure the execution of this contract, if said work is awarded to him. The Clerk of this Board is hereby ordered to give notice by two weekly pub- lications of the time and place, when and where bids will be received, opened and con- sidered for the construction of said work. Said Clerk shall state in said notices that Each bidder shall enclose with his bid a certified check or bid bond for above na amount, to insure the execution of this contract. R. S. Andrysiak F. K. Pajakowski Clerk of the Board • • • • • 0 437 NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS NO. 2580, 1948 To Whom it May Concern: South Bend, Indiana Notice is hereby given, that the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, on the 25th day of October, 1948 at the hour of 10:00 A.M. C.S.T at the office of the Board, in the City Hall, in said City, will open and consider sealed bids,'and designate by preliminary order the kind of pavement to be used, for the following described Street Improvement, as provided for in Improvement Resolution No, 25801 1948 duly passed by said Board on September 9, 1948 and September 30, 1948 respectively, to -wit: Sibley Avenue from west line of Wilber Street to East line of College Street by draining, grading and paving the roadway with a Class C Pavement, Types one (1) to five (5) inclusive. Provided, all bids for the construction of said work, shall be filed in the • office of the Clerk of the Board of Public Works and Safety of said City before 10:00 o'clock A.M. C.S.T. of said day. Each bidder for said work shall enclose with his bid a Certified Chedk payable, to the Treasurer of said City, in the sum of two and one-half ( 2 1/2) per cent of the i amount of his bid, or a bid bond for two and one-half (2 1/2 ) per. cent of the amount of his bid, to insure the execution of Contract, if said work is awarded to him. Detailed plans and specifications for said improvement are on file in the i office of the Department of Engineering.
