Gould. The Board approved plans for a sanitary sewer on Louise Street from Ruskin Street to the River. Plans for sewer constructions in Pinhook Manor, including manhole construct±cn and house services were approved for Inglewood Court, Joyce Drive, Hollywood Place, Edgewoo( Drive, Eastbrook Drive, Lagoon Court7`1Riverside Drive and Northville Drive. A petition was received asking for the vacation of an alley along the south side of Lot #22 in Walnut 4th Addition to the City of South Bend, and also an alley along the Last side of Lot #22 in Walnut 4th Addition to the City of South Bend. This was referrE to the City Plan Commission for investigation and report. HEALTH DEPARTMENT: the Clerk of the Board was authorized to advertise for one three passenger coupe for the Health Department. STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr, Melton 0, Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertain- ing to his department were discussed. There being no further busines's to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 A.M. TALI;,CABS : Mr. Anderson Million, re resenting the Veterans Cab Company, came before the Board to ask,for a cab stand at 30 Chapin Street formerly occupied by the Mercury Cab Company. The Veterans Cab Company was given permission to use the.cab stand on condition that the Mercury Cab Company is no longer in need of said space. 'An application by the Indiana Cab,Company for a cab stand on the north side of Western Avenue in the loo block was referred to Mr. Miller for investigation. Harold Morgan, a taxi -cab driver, came before the Board to show cause why his license should not be revoked. After a full discussion of the facts:of the case, Mr. Morgan was cautioned that further violation of a traffic offense or a matter which will'reflect on his personal character in the operation of a taxi -cab will result in the revokation of his license. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractor's Bond was approved and ordered filed for Fred M. Lemler. An application for the Indiana Bell Telephone Company for the construction of underground conduit on Lincoln ?-,Tay West between Scott Street , d Harrison Street and also for building new manholes and underground conduit in the alley West of LaFayette Boulevard between Jefferson Boulevard and LaSalle Street, was approved by the Board. • • • r� • 379 n U r� U 0 The City PlanCommission indicated by letter that they approve the vacation of two sections of alley in Oakside 3rd Addition. The.City Engineer was directed to prepare a vacation resolution for same. The City Plan Commission indicated by letter that they approve the vacation of the section of alley running West from North Blmer Street next North of Elwood Avenue and between -lots 65 and lots 4, 5, and 6 in Huey Heights Addition and the City Engineer was directed to prepare a vacation resolution for same. The Board approved the grade on Kentucky Street from Sample Street to Ford Street and on Revere Place from East of Kentucky to 365.87 feet Southeast of Kentucky Street. The Board approved the grade on Dunham Street from the east side of an alley West of Dundee Street to the west side of the alley East of Lake Street. STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Melton Brannan, Street Commissioner, was present and matters Pertaining to his department were discussed. Mr. H. L. Underwood and Mr. Jack Oehmke came before the Board to ask permission to decorate the down town streets for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention. The Board approved their request with the stipulation that they file an indemnity bond with the city. Mr. Miller was asked to obtain the cooperation of the Park Department in cutting j down shrubs and trimming trees where they obstruct the view at intersections. A list !of such intersections having been made by police officers, the said list was given to Mr. Miller for investigation. ''
