meeting were read and
approved. There were no
claims of suppliers to be
approved.
TRAFFIC �EPARTiiEi;T: Mr. Ernest T•"filler, Traf'ic. Engineer, was present and matters
pertaining to his cTepartment were discussed.
Mr. Miller was granted permission to attend a meeting; of the T;Iidi-,lest Safety
Conference in Chicago, on May 6 and 7th. Mr. Steve Ivancovics was granter per-
mission to attend the meeting on May 7th.
The Board approved the plat of the J. Iiuharic Addition to the City of South
Pend.
`I'_AXI«CABS: A petition was received from the Veterans Cab Company asking for one
more say stand providing for at leasttwo and possibly three cabs. This was re-
ferred to Mr. Lliller for investigation.
ENGINLERI"TG :)EPARTP.IETTT: An Excavation bond was approved and ordered filed for
',,1hiEcom.E End Keller Company.
Contractort s Bonds in the ar.iount of 5�1,000.00 each ;sere approved and ordered
filed for Forrest Guise, The Adams Roofing 2, Contracting Co .pany, The Hatfield
Electric Company and T; elvin Green.
STREET DEPAILTT,TG�'IT: 11il.r. Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, was present and matters
pertaining t_ als department were discussed.
CE,1'ETERx _)EPARTT: ENT: TrTr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, liras present and matters per-
ainisg to his dep�,,rtraent were discussed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was

to them thanking them for their interest and assuring theca that their views will
receive careful consideration.
A letter was received from the 01 rien I.Tarnish Company asking permission to close
Nlorth 01 Brien Stroc t from the Corner of 'Iashington Street for a distance of 100 yards
while an addition to their building is beinC constructed. The Board discussed the
matter with p,1r. John ElcCartlay, who was present, and decided. to close the street except
for enough room for one lire of traffic. iir. TTiller was directed to mare an investi-
gation and contact the residents of the street affected to find out if this was satis-
factory.
